Rake is going up soon, though, right?

Played here yesterday, still $6 max rake. Did not see or here of a pending increase. Sands recently upped to $7 max (fund promos), so would not be surprising.

I saw they are spreading 1-3-6-12 here, what is that game? Has 200-1000, so I'm guessing NL?

Heard from two different dealers in the past week that it will soon be going up to $7. Just one more reason to play in AC if you're able to.

Question: Was there really a big demand for bringing back the bbj? I'd just as soon they get rid of the promos and leave the money in the pot, but I do understand it's a competitive market and the promos do bring in players. Saying that, I'd rather see the money spread out through smaller prizes like high hands then see one player every six months (who might just be passing through) win it all. When the Sugarhouse thread started there was a discussion on this subject and, if I remember right, most people who posted felt the same way. Was this not representational of the wider poker community?

2+2 readers much less posters are not even close to being representative of the wider poker community. Randomly ask people you meet in the poker room if they are a 2+2'er. I suspect the first 20 or more are likely to look at you like 'why are you calling me a four'.

Point taken, Fore, and though I've only played here a few times in the last year, and I've never taken a formal survey, I don't recall ever hearing anyone say they wished Harrah's would take more rake so they can bring back the bbj. Is this something people asked for, or something that management just think will bring people in?

Luckily, I live near a train station in NJ, and it's not much harder for me to go play in AC. They already have better promos and better comps, and if they can do it while taking less rake than Harrahs Philly I know where I'll be playing.

The best thing this room has going for them right now is they don't take the extra dollar..The bad beat isn't going to grow the room and it's going to take more money out of the regs pockets who most likely won't smash a bad beat

The bad beat is the managers baby and he has consistently ****ed that up by telling people it is coming and then it never does

It's cool though they have cornered the Philly market for 2-4-6 games

Philly Live casino won it's latest legal battle last week. Looks like groundbreaking could be right around the corner. What do people think it will mean for Harrah's when it opens?

They will lose more business but continue to be the only room in town spreading 2/4 games if that's your thing

It'll probably be the end of the poker room at Harrah's. But I think that's at least 3-5 years away. I've heard they already have plans to put slot machines in there.

It will not be the end of the poker room, as a lot of Harrahs players are from Delaware and Delaware County. However it will take away another 2 tables or so at peak times.
I say Philly Live will hurt SugarHouse the most and not impact Parx too much. As far as putting in the slots goes, the slots area is not that packed in Chester either, so I doubt they'll put more on 2nd floor.

Yeah, nearly everyone I've ever talked to in this room is from Delco. My guess is it should split the action from SugarHouse and have minimal effect on Chester.

A dealer told the the table yesterday the BBJ begins on 8.22. During the tournament yesterday as they tried to get the tv to show the clock they showed a BBJ promo on one of the inputs as they cycled through them.

So rake is now 5+2?

Yes, BBJ is back. Started at $10K with quad 2s being beaten as qualifier.

Yes, rake is now $5+$2.

If I wasn't moving to Vegas, I'd probably be moving closer to Parx.

It's AC for me now. Too bad, there are a couple dealers from Harrah's I'll miss.

How the hell can you beat the game now? Crazy. Not that I played here often but I did occasionally. Never again. At least Sugarhouse is close.

Does anyone know if the room manager reads, or even knows about this site? I know awhile ago the manager at the time would sometimes post, and when Sugarhouse first opened, it's manager then was a frequent poster, and I know managers of some rooms in the past have been more active on this site.

You realize Sugarhouse is also $5+2?

No I didn't. I guess that seems to be the Philly norm. SMH I would imagine I'll be seeing the smarter players at Parx or AC with me then.
