With how small and tight the game has gotten, it has lost many holdem players. There has been lots of talk of trying to make a 1/3 NL 100mix 500max buy in a regular daily game.

three blind 1/2/5 with a $200 min would be infinitely better. As for the max, i'm not really sure. I can see $500, $700, or like half of big stack.

1/2/5 would be great but I don't think they would get it running on a regular daily basis. They are barely getting the 2/5 game going. Although usually the 2/5 game will run and get players but the staff doesn't like to start it unless they having 8 to 10 starters. The few times though, that they have started the game with 5 or 6 of us, people see it on Bravo and the table becomes full within 30 minutes. Just wish they would be making more effort to get the game going more!!!

Played there this past weekend -- $1/2 NL. The room was hopping when I got there later in the afternoon on Saturday. During the evening all eight tables were going. Action was also pretty good Sunday evening.

I was seated almost immediately both days. Management seemed to be really on top of things. The dealers were friendlier than I remembered from previous trips.

Bad beat jackpot is now over $400,000 and the mini bad beat is over $10,000.

I still don't like starting at a feeder table, but that was the only negative I saw. I don't know if anything changed, but the place just seemed to have improved tremendously recently.

Wow -- no posts here since my last one over eight months ago? I am hoping to stop in for some poker later tonight -- Wed, Dec 30. I am hoping that weather will not keep people away.

Got here early in the evening on Wed, Dec 30. The place was packed! I asked why and was told that the big crowd was likely due to the holidays. The wait to play $1/2 NL Hold em was two hours! They also had $2/5 running as well as an Omaha game. Waiting list was long for those games also.

The major BBJ is now over $500,000 (quad eights or higher beaten) and the mini BBJ is over $9,000 (Aces full of Kings beaten). A dealer said that the big BBJ hasn't been hit in over 2 1/2 years.

Because the place was so crowded, it looked like they didn't so their usual feeder table crap which I absolutely hate!

Management was fine -- polite and realistic when telling me that I would have a long wait. The dealers were good. One guy who is usually quiet seemed to be having a bad night, but other dealers were cheerful.

Overall, I had a very good experience, as I usually do here.

Decided to play strictly at this room last month, they had a 20k free roll promo for the top 50 hours. Hours ended Monday, here we are 2 days later and they still don't have the finalized list ready. WTF, how hard can it be, I asked. "well something is wrong with the formula, should be ready by friday" they replied.

What would you need a formula for? She couldn't give me an answer, and added that the PLO players hours were also causing issues. The PLO has no promo drop, so how that is an issue is beyond me sense their hours don't count.

So glad the month is over so I can go back to the Shoe.

I played $1/2 NL on Saturday and Sunday nights this past weekend. Action was lively, the dealers were good and management was great.

For any regs -- did they finally stop the must move tables? That was the one thing I hated about playing here. I didn't see it go on at all this weekend.

Heard a rumor that the $590k BBJ hit couple of weeks ago but casino disqualified it as a player was on his/her phone during hand. Confirmed?

Now there's a bad beat, if true.

I've played several sessions in the last couple weeks, have not heard this rumor. And trust me, if it were true people would still be talking about it.

Not to mention the dealers are downright annoying about phone usage, there isn't a chance a whole hand got played through without the dealer verbally assaulting the player multiple times.

I want to play some 1/2 NL here. Who are the tough regs I should avoid?

I think that would be a TOS violation to specifically ID players in a live game.

I was playing up at the Grand Victoria in Eligin on Friday nights, but planning on trying out Harrah's Joliet. What are the 1/2 NL games like? Are Friday nights busy? I keep reading that lots of folks are sitting around waiting on the Big Beat Jackpot.

I saw on Bravo the BBJ has dropped to $317k. I assume that the BB was hit over the weekend? Anyone have any details?

Was at the table when it hit. Hit around 11:30pm at a 10 handed full table in the far back. Everyone dealt in. Seat 4 hit the bad beat against seat 6. Seat 4 just sat down and was playing his 3rd hand. Seat 4 had 6d7d and seat 6 had JdQd

Flop is 10d9d6c. Don't remember the betting. Very little to no action. Turn was 8d. River 7c. I figured it was gonna be a chop. No one saw it coming

$18 in the pot after turn. Seat 4 leads out with $10, seat 6 raises to $25, seat 4 reraises to $160, seat 6 jams and seat 4 pushes remaining chips. Seat 6 said he had the nuts before flipping over. Seat 4 said later he was gonna punch him if he flipped over AdXd after his stated hand. Lol.

Lots of cheering and hugging ensued with the rest of the room enviously observing. A couple tables quickly broke after this

So a dealer deals one hand of poker, and makes 3K. If he/she was complaining, then they need to re-think the situation. Because it seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Honest question; Do dealers think they're entitled to x% of a BBJ?, irrespective of its size?

I'm not a poker dealer. But if they think that they are entitled to a certain percentage, like a sports agent, then they should reconsider.

The tip is shared with all the dealers. No one knows if the actual dealer received a side tip. I don't think any dealer expects a certain amount but on a $400k payday and the largest ever BBJ in the country that one would share the wealth a bit more than normal. Either way congrats to everyone who got a piece of it.
