Btw, is there still a Knoxville group online? It seems the one I had a link for became defunct. Trying to find out if Tony in Farragut still runs a New Year's game...
Hey man, how's it going. I'm not sure about Tony's New Year's game, I'll ask around with the few guys I still keep in touch with. I haven't kept up with the group in quite some time, actually played again last night for the first time in a few months.

I was there last weekend and had a few beers across the little cafe by the sky bridge but you can't take anything on to the casino floor as of yet. Room service will deliver shots of most brand name liquor but not full bottles. The diamond longue is in the middle of the casino and you can go in there and have a few libations if you must.

Re: Harrahs in North Carolina should do well with PokerPro tables.

Got an email from them about it and checked in here to make sure the word had spread. General info from the email for those that didn't get it:

Monday, December 21!

All beer and wine sales on the casino
floor will be cash only and sold
Monday-Saturday, 7am-2am and
Sunday, Noon-2am. You may purchase beer and wine from any Beverage Server or at any of the service bars on the casino floor.

Also, you can still enjoy mixed drinks in the VIP lounge and hotel restaurants during each outlet's hours of service.

No info regarding pricing, which isn't a surprise, but i really wish they had a list of what was available. I haven't been able to get there since November so i don't know how it's been received.

Re: Harrah's Cherokee (Cherokee, NC) Poker Thread

Going up this afternoon. Any fellow 2+2ers coming tonight?

Think it will be busy like a weekend?

Maybe an O8 game?

Happy and healthy 2010!

Just got back. The poker room had only 4/7 tables running, no O8. Looks like even us degen poker players had something else to do on NYE.

They had a live band playing on a raised platform at the entrance of the casino.

Hey Bob. Happy New Year!

It isn't a raise and a call or a raise and 3-bet (which I seriously saw 1 or 2 times in 17 hours of play). They were call, call, call, complete, check. I mean it was so sick compared to a game online. Simply NO ONE 3-bet light and I only saw one kid who ever isolated a limper light. It was just an open-limping fest. They kept calling me a bully just b/c I'd come in with a raise most of the time or isolate limpers, while I was playing fairly solid/close to the vest compared to the way I'd iso online in 6-max games.

Yes, the bad regs aren't losing any money because the non-regs are that much worse for one. Secondly, they're good at not giving away money, but they also play very straightforward and don't attack money either. The regs that I encountered mostly limped into pots (limping with JT EP, calling a raise oop in one instance) and just tried to hit very strong, they didn't make any tough moves otherwise. I'm sure they win vs the cows, but they are very easy to play and read for a decent player. Honestly the toughest guy I played was an older man who just potted tons if checked to, potted any draws, etc. Atleast he was tricky and made you think, which none of the regs really did and surely none of the other non-regs ever did. Most of the non-regs were complete non-thinking old school players that think it all comes down to "lady luck" or "who gets the cards" and believe AK, AA, KK, and JJ are the devil and "always lose." The ones who raise with KK, then c-bet an A-board IP just to "get information."

tl;dr Easy game over there. Still, it's only 1/2, so more of a fun experience than worth a significant hourly boost to .5/1 and up online players. Then again, it's a very relaxing and easy way to make money while having fun.

In terms of LIVE 1/2 this sounds like one of the worst tables i could imagine. Passive rocks and isolating limpers?? I dont even think I've ever heard of anyone isolating in a 1/2 live game lol Sounds like a horrible table.
