There was one hilarious hand early where I open raised from the CO with As8s, button calls and so does one limper(old guy named Denver). Flop 10 10 2, 2 spades. Denver bets about half pot, me and BU both call. Turn queen of spades, Denver bets about $50, I shove all in and they both call!! I know I have the best hand but am a little worried of the river pairing the board and giving one of them a boat. Turns out Denver had a lower flush that I coolered and BU had pocket aces. I couldnt believe he flatted preflop lol. Then later in the night, I have AJ vs the same guy who has A10. A10XQA on the board and I escape with a minimal loss after he calls my river bet with a full house. I thank him for not raising and he goes "I thought you had AQ." LOL. And this guy wasnt even the worst player at the table---I think he ended up around even. I'll definitely be heading back here soon, maybe tomorrow night. I want to check out the 2-5 games but may try to book a few more wins at 1-2 before upping the stakes.
Yeah I didn't want to blast the player pool as to not offend anyone but goes lord my two sessions were interesting.
One hand that I found funny..
Hero mp open to 17, 2 callers.
Flop A2T all hearts. Hero leads for 25 to rep ace and charge heart draws , one caller.
Turn ace, hero leads 40 to rep ace with "value" bet, opponent calls.
River off suit 7.. Hero leads out for 70 for another "value" bet since heart draws missed..
Opponent thinks for a bit and says "well I can't fold this hand" and calls showing T9.
Obviously my opponent gave zero thought outside of his 2 cards
