Just checked Bravo. There is a definite uptick in cash games for this time of day. Can't wait to get up there.

Would it be reasonable to assume that a large percentage of the player pool during the circuit event consists of seasoned cash game pros that follow the circuit and prey on weekenders such as myself?

HA!!! You guys have it easy. Solid 5 hour drive from Raleigh. I'd kill for a 2 and a half hour drive to a casino.

That's kind of my point. The circuit event is probably the worst time to play, even for "winning regulars." So why do a lot of people think the circuit event is a great time to go?

I'm sure that may be true for higher stakes games but the low stake games seem to be "better" during a circuit event.

this 110%.....great time for cash games. 2000 entries into event 2......75% of these are average guys looking to take a shot and have a good time, they play cash when they bust out..or, they are gambling degens in town for all the action they can get. IMO

Excellent crowd and it gets better run every time. They had plenty of staff for sign ups so there wasn't much of a wait. They have 50 games or so available for cash and by early afternoon had all 20 games in the poker room going strong and a few cash games in the event center. As the tournament winds down they will have more cash games. Great time in Cherokee!!

I was just considering driving 90 minutes for some cash games, but then checked bravo.

Are more dealers on the way?

There's gonna be long waits the entire weekend. I went up on a Saturday during the last event and the 1/2 waitlist broke 200 at one point.

Also, has anyone played the 5/5 PLO game that runs during the event? Is it pretty soft or just full of circuit grinders?

The waiting list(s) have been clearing quickly all evening.

can someone tell me how many entries the sunday 250 typically gets?

Anywhere from 55-80, although I haven't played in a few weeks. First is usually 4800-5500, 2nd 2600-2900, pays 10% of the field. It hasn't chopped when I played but if 1st is more than $5250 someone has to take the W2-G.

A 4/8 or 10/20 limit O8 game would be sweet.

cool. I'll play anything up to 10/20. another guy coming with me will play if its 4/8 or 5/10 but whatever gets more people works for me. I'll likely arrive in the afternoon and start a list if theres not already one going.

Will be in to Rock Hill SC / Charlotte in October. I'd like to travel to Cherokee for a few days. However I do not have a car and it seems like there aren't that many travelling options from RC/Charlotte to Cherokee. Does anyone have any advices?

There are bus trips that head to Cherokee from Charlotte but they are usually day trips (Head there in the morning and come back at night). I'm not sure if you can go there on one bus and then come back a couple days later on a different bus.

Warning: Though there is lots of action this Labor Day, once again Harrahs donks away the opportunity ...they don't even have enough dealers to fill the tables, so the lines for cash are epic, and even the tournament has 20 alternates...so if you plan to come this weekend, even for a tournament, you better arrive early and be prepared to wait..

35 people on the 1/2 list isn't epic. In fact, it sounds like a normal Saturday afternoon. But you are right about them not bringing in enough dealers to run all of their tables. This occurs almost every weekend. It's very aggravating.

Is there any wait for a 1/2 table on a Saturday around noon? Deciding if worth stopping in for 2-3 hours as I pass close by.

Usually a small wait by then, but the list does increase as the afternoon goes on. I've gotten there around 10:30 or so and got seated pretty quickly.
