Most casinos allow 1/2 players to buy in for equal to highest stack at table which can easily be $500+.

This same crap happens at Harrah's Cherokee. There is only one person (Anthony) that will make a Must Move to Main game. Everybody else just dont give a crap so the main table breaks up.

False.

There is are only two places I can think of that allow this: Horseshoe Columbus and Harrah's NOLA. Nowhere in AC allows it (although the 1/2 at Golden Nugget is uncapped so it doesn't matter), FW and MS don't allow it, nowhere in PA allows it, Delaware Park doesn't allow it, and Charles Town doesn't allow it.

I've never been to a room in Vegas that allows it either. That doesn't mean that they don't exist, but none of the six or seven rooms I've played in had that rule. And Commerce doesn't allow it.

Cannot do that at Seminole Hard Rock casinos in FL. I have seen it enforced. Of course, with live dealers, some things do occasionally slip through the cracks, especially when a player moves from one table to another and they are playing a different game at the new table (but not sure what the rule is that case).

I am looking to visit the poker room here.
The casino hotel is booked whole October even on weekdays!
How can that be possible?
Is there some special event going on?

Leaves turning color in Smokey Mountains and lots of tourists.

Saying it makes sense doesn't really answer or shed any light onto my comment. In all the rooms I've played at in the country I've never seen a room have both unless they were testing the machines out. IMO poker players prefer dealers and real cards as opposed to computer tables.

IMO Harrah's Cherokee is setting up live dealers to fail. There will NOT be live dealers for 1/2NL or 3/6 Limit games. Is there enough interest during the week to run 2/5NL and 5/10 Limit games (with live dealers). They can barely get a 2/5NL game going on a Saturday. IMO if it was not for the WSOP Circuit Event there would not be live dealers at all.

It sounds like the casino is trying to reduce labor costs by using the electronic tables for what it expects will be the most common games. That makes sense to me from a business perspective because there's nowhere else to play live, legal poker anywhere around Harrah's Cherokee.

If players could vote with their feet, maybe they would choose live dealers. But they can't in this region so they're subject to management's discretion unless they're willing to boycott.

You see where the new Poker Room is located. Poker is the least revenue generating thing in the casino. They would not care if u boycott poker. If they cared about the player then those machines would have been gone by now.

This is true for nearly all casinos. Certainly not exclusive to Cherokee.

How about following Cherokee's lead and get rid of the dealers?

So we're in agreement then. Either play with the knowledge that management isn't going to bend over backward for poker players or don't. No need to complain incessantly.

For a card room that monopolizes an entire market, it's feasible. It comes down to their cost/benefit analysis. For rooms that share a market, e-tables will be the death of them, because most rec players prefer live dealers, so whichever room has live dealers will get majority of the traffic.

But we're starting to enter a "live vs e-table" debate, and there's a containment thread for that.

Dont complain incessantly. Really? People have a right to have their voice heard. If it was not for the "complainers" Harrah's Cherokee would not have Live Dealers at all.

And you should have it heard! By all means, write emails, write letters, talk with management in person. And report back here on your progress if you want. But don't clog up this thread with the same complaints over and over again without taking action.

If you're tired then stop following the thread or block that person. There are people that want to know what is going on at Harrah's Cherokee. Anthony (poker room brush) is nice enough to keep us updated on news in the poker room. He tries to help anyway he can. BTW all of those things u mentioned have been done.

I have no problem "blocking" you if you continue to repeat complaints in lieu of taking action.

How are posters suppose to know whats been posted over and over again when it keeps getting deleted or moved? That would be new 2+2ers, new players to the region, and googlers finding the thread.

I have emailed the governor asking why legislation and subsidies were granted in exchange for promised job creation in our area , while in reality jobs are not a priority.

Absolutely no reply in 2 months. Not even a canned reply. This is thru the governors .gov public site.

I was requesting that that particular poster refrain from repeating himself further in this thread. It's of course perfectly fine if multiple posters have the same complaint(s).

Thank you for letting us know about your email to the governor. Could you please clarify what the point of your email to the governor was, what exactly you asked him, and how it relates to poker at Harrah's Cherokee?

I think it's more than a cost/benefit analysis. It's hard to get enough dealers and get them trained to go "live". I am sure they would have more craps, blackjack, etc. tables right now if they had more dealers ready. Sure the unemployment rate is high but it's still hard to get 500+ dealers hired and trained. The area, 50 mile radius from Cherokee, is not very populous.

Live play means less hands per hour, dealer mistakes, more floor, brushes and dealer salaries plus tips. Guess where all that extra money comes from? Players

I for one like the PokerPro tables and hope Cherokee never gets live dealers. I cannot think really any true positive dealers. Nothing worth the cost IMO.
