So does Elgin have the same stupid rule at Aurora where if you show one card with no showdown you have to show both? Never heard of that one before yesterday but whatever.
1-2 confirmed beatable but not for anything meaningful or worthwhile. Probably $10/hr for the best players. Games were also very hit or miss back when I played, as someone else said. Depending on your table your EV might go up to $20/hr or down to break even and it was usually one or the other not much in between.
Good to see it growing man. With the buyins allowing 100bb, the extra tables, we almost have ourselves a real poker room here, just need to get that rake changed
Sorry icehaze, as apparently ur a dealer there. Probably more competent then the rest if u have even heard of 2+2 as i genuinely think most of the dealers at GVC have never stepped foot in a poker room anywhere else.
In addition to the new tables, they now have an "early bird special". $6 rake before noon on weekdays, iirc. They make that permanent for all times then this is becomes a halfway a decent room.
was here on friday night and by 3am there was only 3 tables running. you'd think the place would be packed on the weekends. action was good, still tons of fish.

Ive always been annoyed and tilted at simply the way the cage counts my chips. It is slow and pointless. No other casino does it this way. Well, not surprising as this place does all kinds of wacky stuff, right?
Ok, now its EVEN WORSE. They changed their method from bad to worse. They also decided to spend an extra 30 seconds facing my bills before they counted them. U will all see what i mean next time u buy chips from the cage. God i hate this place....

Thought this might be; "THE WORST POKER ROOM IN ILLINOIS". And that's really saying something. Worse than the bad one and the even worse one in Joliet? Worse than the highly respected (cough, cough) one in Aurora? Worse than the hopeless one in Peoria? Worse than the silly one in Metropolis?
Maybe its time for another trip and bring some unsuspecting buddies to downtown Elgin.

Fortunately, I'll never again experience anything that the Elgin poker room does, because I refuse to play there until they lower their rake. I would advise you to do the same.
