this really is one of the worst rooms and only survives on its location. my hourly is up an insane amount after changing my play from here to $4 max rake games elsewhere. the location is nice for many people in suburbs but if you put in significant hours at all even at 1/2 youre better off driving or shuttling to horseshoe. my winrate was so ***** neutered from playing here its not even funny. the games really arent that great either.

if you are a winner your winrate will be severely affected by the rake. i strongly recommend finding the nearest horseshoe shuttle to where you live and taking it there instead. having a $8-9 rake, with no bbj, preflop raking, and having to tip dealers on top of all that does not leave a lot for you to take home at 1/2. also comps are pathetic and games are only slightly better than shoe.

All you fish need to grow up, Gvc knows what they are doing contrary to what you may think Mike B, they are there to make money and for them to have a poker room an 8 dollar rake is what it takes to compensate for 6 gaming spots per table. Let me fill you in with a little inside knowledge, each slot machine makes about 400 dollars a day,thats 2400 dollars per poker table. I can tell you even with a 8 dollar rake they dont make that.All you idiots want to compare us to the shoe which falls under very differint rules by the state, they pay 30% tax and unlimited gaming spots to our 50% tax and 1800 gaming spots.So mike and all you other fools should get a little information on what your talking about before just running your mouth.We fight for you guys all day long and all we get is your bull****..please drive to the shoe we have plenty of customers who like it there.. preflop rake is unacceptable i dont care what state you are in or what planet you are on or what govt regs you have to work under. bottom line. $8max is equally absurd. .50/hr comps are virtually insulting, are there govt regulations holding that down too? you have a lot of work to do to win people with a brain over.

by the way i calculated a rough estimate of what gvc rakes per day and it came out at $20,000/day for the whole room, which a dealer confirmed to me.

6 (tables) x 32 (hands per hour) x 4 (avg rake per hand) x 22 (hours per day) =$17k. thats not even counting dealer tips, which players pay the vast majority of your dealers income, joe. it also doesnt count when there was an extra table. funny how gvc has millions of dollars to donate every year but cant seem to find a way to lower their rake or pay their employees more.

i also love the feel of a poker room manager calling his customers fish on the internet for voicing their complaints. really gives that professional feel, and should really convince everyone that youre working hard for them..........as opposed to attempting to justify the ludicrous status quo at gvc
