4/8 O8 can very often be a nitfest, especially during the day during the week. I won't name names but the same guys play regularly, most are tight. But it can be good too, you just have to look at the game and know whos who.

Re: The Foxwoods Poker Thread

Havent been to Foxwoods in like 7 months. Ill be playing there alot over the next few weeks.

What is the min/max buy in for the 2/5 NL game? 5/10 NL game?

Also, if it ever gets going, what is min/max for 1/2 PLO games?

I think 2/5 is $200-$500
5/10 $500 - $2000

Standard 1/2 would be $60-$300, I think it is the same the PLO

It is the same at PLO, but you can always ask to change it too. I have seen 5/5 games w/ $1000 max BI.

That is good to see a weak tight game for O8.

Re: The Foxwoods Poker Thread

One time I did start a PLO "high" list but of coarse when they called it half of the guys who showed up where the O/8 nits who rufuse to play PLO high. They all clamied it was a terrible game lol....

why do they keep playing PLO8? as far as I can tell its the same nits buying in for 60 bucks at a time evey time I see it. do any fishy players even play this game? It is almost impossible for bad players to win at PLO8 if these guys had half a brain they would learn to play PLO.

Re: The Foxwoods Poker Thread

Got a free room for tomorrow night. If I'm paying 1/2 nl on wednesday night, should I go to Mohegan or FW? Or are they basically the same level of play?

Chances of 1/2 plo on wednesday nights at either? <5%?

Nevermind that a lot of them will take a break during the high only round...

I honestly wish there was any easy solution to this, but they join the table knowing that people will cave in every time and cater to their request

See, this is what happens. I did the same thing (I believe monkeymaps played in the game this time also when I started the list, so he can vouch). I made sure it it was listed as HIGH only.

The thing is, once you force the floor and talk him into starting up the game with 8 or 9 people on the list, and 3 or 4 of them who show up refuse to play unless you switch every 30 minutes, the floor will not let the game continue unless you have a full table basically. So either you play then and accept their terms or the game is canceled completely and they take the list off the board.

You could ask to reassign the list I suppose, and just eliminate the initials of the nits who refuse to play omaha high only, but at that point people just get frustrated and would take their name off the existing list, and it just is harder to start at that point.

Would love to see an
8/16. But they can barely get the 10/20 going and its not always the best game and 4/8 is so heavily raked

10/20 is worse than 8/16 I believe bc the rake structure is more seeing the flop.

This not really true overall. Yes the floors prefer to start a game 7+ hnded, but if you get the game started at 2-5 or 5-5 you should be able to play it 3 hnded. Many of times when we started a game that became "good" this is how we do it.

Also you will not be able to start a PLO game this Wednesday.

+1 for starting a game short to get the full game you want. Just make it easy for the jolly gambloor to find you. Ask for a table near close to foot traffic. The tables on the tourney side, under the opening, are good prospects. Every hour ask the floor to make an open seating announcement. Be willing to gamble when they find you.

Oh ok, I did not know that. The game(s) I started were 1/2 and not 2/5+. Also, as any foxwoods reg would know, every decision is very floor dependent. You can get some things passed by some floor and others will not go forward with the same requests just due to having a difference of opinion. I was told they would not start the games short handed. It probably varies by limit, as you are suggesting, however.

Re: The Foxwoods Poker Thread

haven't been to FW In a while and just curious how often the 5/10 NL games run. is there a 5/10 nl game running every night of the week? are there often multiple games running? what nights are the best for 5/10 nl just the weekend like fri/sat/sun nights?
