First off...u have no plan here for your hand as I can tell from your comments. Raising him that amount with what he has behind is basically saying your putting him all in. So unless your prepared for an all in don't raise here. If you do want him all in the raise to induce the shove. Your not playing deep here so any raise like that is putting either one of you all in.

But to your question yea def call that given stack sizes

Over the past almost 5 months, they've collected about $1.3 million dollars in BBJ rake at a dollar a pop, and it has hit 4 times, so I would guess about once in 325,000 hands dealt, excluding hands not raked for BBJ.

It's only banned if you are in the hand, right? You are free to do whatever you want if you fold? Or has this rule changed recently

Not sure to be honest, but to be safe and curteous, if I'm going to send a text I wait till I'm out of a hand, I stand up and take a couple steps from the table.

Re: The Foxwoods Poker Thread

ANother Brag Post....In my last 3 trips to CT I have won or chopped a tournament...chopped the $60 turbo(63 entrants) 4 ways for $592...1st time ive played the turbo in a long time, and the play is really horrible. The collection of the antes are the worst in these tournaments, because of the fifteen minute blinds it allows little to no play at all. Because of this we made the easy decision to chop when we all had 70-80k rougly at 5-10k.

For the new BBJ, this has always been the rule. No texts/calls at the table during the hand - applies to everyone.

Yes !!!!!

Most of the $120 and the $180 all start with $10,000 and 20 min levels !!! They only change the starting stacks and the times in the Sit & Go

My suggestion is to move up to $230 only if you got the bankroll for it (at least 30-40 buyins) and are prepared for some huge swings. You WILL lose more than just 6 games in a row, because the blind structures in almost all tourneys from like ~$300 on down absolutely suck. You start off with a giant stack and really small blinds, which leads to a sick amount of action, people throwing their money everywhere, meaning you don't have much opportunity to bluff or play your marginal hands, you just have to wait for good ones to get paid off. It might as well be 1/2 NL sometimes.

Next thing you know, antes already kick in and blinds get big enough to turn the game into a shove-fest. I seriously wish they would start the antes in a later stage of the tourney just so it won't turn into a shove-fest so quickly. Imagine how much confusion could be avoided if they started antes at 100 instead of going 25, 50, or 75, which wastes 30-60 seconds every hand collecting them or getting change or whatever. I mean, 20 or 25 minute blinds end up turning into 15 minutes when that's happening so much. So don't get too allured by the fact that blinds are an extra 5 minutes each round, the difference is only just 1-2 more hands, which ain't huge.
Shorty,
The weekly guarantee tournaments have a lot stronger feild that the daily tournamnets !!! Most of the Regs know what they are doing with just a few Softys....

As far as the Antes... You need them to get the tournament over in a 6hrs ! It makes for more action and applies pressure and pot odds !!!! If they stared later I feel it would just make the tour take long and to sit there for longer than 5hr just to bubble Sucks

Also it has a lot to do with the dealers... The good ones will keep the game moving and the slower ones will drive you crazy !!!!!

Re: The Foxwoods Poker Thread

Anyone see the guy get thrown out on Sunday by the plain clothes State Police? He was playing $1/$2 NL under the atrium area.

They tapped him on the shoulder, flashed their badge, had him to rack up, escorted him to the chip window, then walked him to the back corner near the chip window entrance.

He didn't look drunk. What did he do? ~35 yr old white guy wearing a white baseball hat.

Re: The Foxwoods Poker Thread

I got an offer for two free nights at either Two Trees or MGM. I have played many times at the woods because I live not too far away, but I've never actually tayed there for the same reason. Gonna take the free nights in the next couple of weeks.

Any preferences between Two Trees and MGM for a two night poker stay? Hotel amenities? Convenience to poker room, etc.?

Thanks!
