So 4 days? 28 pt avg? Good chance you'll start seeing midweek rooms in Sept. Too late for August.

I'm going to be in NYC in a few weeks and would like to play some poker a few nights while I'm there. I'll likely be able to get away for maybe 1-2 nights and would be looking to play ~20 hours of 2/5 or 5/10 NLHE.

Where would be the best spot to play out of Parx, Foxwoods and Borgata?

Specifically -
1) Would there be much difference in softness of games at these stakes in these casinos? Same question for 2/5 PLO.
2) I assume min/max buy-in amounts and rake in OP are up to date?
3) Is there any discount/deal on hotel rooms for poker players?
4) Is there any state or federal tax witheld for tournament winnings if I do happened to play a tournament (I know Parx has a series on while I'm there)?
5) Any other relevant details that would be pertinent.

Thanks. I've xposted this in the three threads for these casinos.

I will be staying at Foxwoods arriving Thursday leaving Monday for a mini degenerate vacation. I'm bringing a female companion who wants to beach it for a day or two. Looking for recommendations from anyone who has knowledge of the best local beaches... looking for close by the casino beaches that have plentiful parking, fun things to do nearby, close restaurants/bars or other food options, and of course a nice beach. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Misquamicut beach is a popular spot, about a half hour from there in Westerly RI.

There's also a place called ocean city park or something in new London. Sorry I'm not 100% on the wording of the name

The ladies in my family swear by Rocky Neck, which I think is fairly close. It's less crowded than the very popular Misquamicut.

Rocky Neck is very nice, has hiking/biking, nice beach, and can camp there too if you want to get away from the casino for a night. Beach parking has a small fee, camping is around $30 for a campsite

Rocky Neck is small with limited parking. If you don't get there early they may not let you in. It closed to traffic this past Saturday and Sunday by noon

Rocky Neck is about 10 minutes farther from the casino then Ocean Beach

1) Foxwoods has some really soft PLO with tables consisting of 3 good regs, 3 bad regs, and 3 complete fish on average.....

But the 2/5 and 5/10 games at the borgata are much softer.

3) No discounts unless you are a previous player. You can find cheap rooms in atlantic city very easily... but CT is a different story... the best you could do in CT is the bellisimo (which does a free limo shuttle to foxwoods) for about $160 on weekends.

4) I only know CT casinos report if you win more than ~$5,300. The state tax depends on what state you live in. Federal tax you can deduct gambling losses from your win so you should be all set there. (I've never had an issue just stating i've lost more than ive won, they don't have time to audit you)

5) The tolls driving to atlantic city from NYC are brutal.

Does FW still do their daily tourneys upstairs or have thsy been moved downstairs? I was there on mad Monday and there were still tables upstairs (not being used obvly). Will the WSOPc in Aug be upstairs or in the old ballroom?

Does 10/10 PLO still run on Thursdays as per bravos "featured" game?

Do they ever spread 1-2PLO? would they if asked and saw demand?

whats the jump from 1-2NLHE to 2-5 like? I feel like the games at 1-2 are pretty boring but don't have enough of a bank roll to play 2-5 comfortably

thanks

1-2 PLO runs on occasion. There's always an interest list at peak times

The 2/5 game has really taken over the PLO action. You gotta have a very deep roll for that game.

Starting September 10, they're adding Saturday to the High Hand Frenzy, 2pm-2am just like Friday. Also, they're shifting the start time on Sunday and Tuesday to 10am.

September 19 is the date of the High Hand Madness.

Aggressively going after the Mohegan Sun HH promos to take back their Saturday market share as they should be doing. Well done.

Is the Foxwoods BBJ going the way of the dinosaur as they follow suit with the HH promo?
