Two Trees is a shorter walk to the poker room than Fox Tower. All outdoors though so not fun if the weather is bad. The quickest way to walk from Great Cedar to the poker room is by taking the elevator to the hotel lobby level, going out by the valet, and also walking outdoors

Thanks for the shortcut from Great Cedar. Never thought of it. I will put in a vote for Two Trees. No lobby or garage to contend with. Just go outside to their parking lot and drive over to the J lot.

On a nice day, it's also a nice walk from Grand Pequot hotel lobby outside to card entrance by smoking area

Is anyone familiar with the new "P.C. Fee" applied to all tournaments? Does anyone know what this is? I believe it is a $3 fee across the board for any tournament but I am unclear what it is for or where it goes to.

It's for their player promotion freeroll in Nov. The just did one for August, but I guess they wanted to do it again.

Here is the info link about it: http://www.foxwoods.com/pokerpromotions.aspx

A few years ago, I used to take the drive to foxwoods a couple times a year for a weekend of binge poker. I would take friday off, drive-in early in the morning and leave sunday afternoon.

I play cash NL 1/2 and I wonder what is the state of the game these days? Is it worth taking the 8 hours drive to spend a whole weekend there? The games used to be pretty soft and there was always 10-15 tables running, so lots of table selection.

Is there still a lot of activities during the weekend? And how soft/hard are the games these days?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not too sure how the scene is up there, but I would imagine it's probably not worth the trip if you have decent local alternatives. Unless of course you are just looking for a random change for the weekend. In that case, not much has really changed as far as game quality and selection for 1/2 over the last several years. Rake is the same and promotions are on the website.

I'm from Montreal, we have two major options, the Montreal Casino which is one of the worst run poker room. Games are softer but they don't have many tables and keep long wait list instead of opening more games. No comps or promotion either.

The other option is the Playground Poker Club, very well run, but it's poker only, no casino, so the caliber is higher. But food and drinks are free.

Both have pretty high rake (10% up to 8$ max, I think or something close).

I love the casino ambiance and what it brings to the tables, but what I like about my weekends at foxwoods was that being away from home, for 3 days, my only occupation was playing poker, no other distractions or responsibility

Hi Everyone,

I'm considering coming to Foxwoods on a random Tuesday night en route to a business meeting the next day. I'll be looking to play PLO. Can someone give me a sense of whether PLO has been running on Tuesdays and if so, which level? I'm willing to play up to 5/5, possibly 5/10, although 1/2 is perfectly fine for me as well.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks again.

That's pretty standard unless you have a high player rating, and even then... the cheapest they get even for high rollers is $79 for weekdays. Unless you have a comp offer to use, that's just how it is.

Playing 1/2 at Foxwoods tonight. BBJ is currently 157k. Minimum qualifier is quad 8's. Get it all in pre QQ v 99.

Flop: Q9T
Turn: Q
River: As whole table gets up and stars calling for a 9.........2

SO CLOSE TO MY SHARE OF BBJ! Had a nice river freeroll sweat for a large score.

Welp, next time

I just got an email that Comix has moved to Mohegan Sun? So what is in the Comix store in Foxwoods? I wonder what happened there and why they moved?

No more comix? Wtf. They are turning into Vegas in that they're getting rid of all the cheap entertainment options in lieu of more expensive ones.

Comix was tired of FW stealing their acts so they decided to bail is what I was told. I believe they are now where the old poker room was at MS.
