If you go to Fallsview from Thurs-Sun and can't make money, you should just pack it in.

Will there be action there this Friday or will the Fall Classic in MTL take some action away? Also, are they sattys for WPT Fallsview?

Many of GTA's regs, winning players & online pros will follow the millions at WPT Montreal this week.

Yeah I was supposed to drive to mtl this weekend as wel but my buddy flopped out on me so I'm thinking of driving to Fallsview (from Toronto) instead for some 2/5.

Edit: and possibly some WPT sattys if they've started up. I'm not seeing the schedule on Fallsview website but that's not a surprise at all...

There was talk yesterday that satties might start on Monday. Some people seem to have some info but nothing official yet but they wont be running this weekend.

Some regs in MTL but I'm sure they will get 2-3 5/10 games going this weekend.

Very likely going to play live for the first time at Casino Niagara this weekend. Prepared to lose but hoping I win. Anyone from here going there this weekend? I have literally zero friends who are into poker on any level, so, you now...

Probably a bad time to be going.....the bbj is higher then it's ever been ($170K) and I've heard it's hours and hours to get a seat. They only have 9 tables and all will be open by 4pm and full with very long lists....likely over 100 names.

I haven't been just going on what frustrated players that come to Fallsview say cause they can't get a seat.

I tried going to play tonight, way too busy. Hadn't been there in a while so I was surprised to see only 9 tables now. Anyway I called ahead and got there at 6pm and the desk lady said there was 80 people ahead of me. So ya it was gonna be like 5 hours maybe, she said she had had people waiting that long already today. Guess I should have asked what the wait time was.

Yeah, same happened to me. If a tonne of people are there just to play for the BBJ, does that mean the tables are just full of terrible players hoping to hit it?

If that's the case, I could be convinced to wait a few hours.

went to fallsview for the first time in a while the other day.... have they remodeled the poker area recently or I am not remembering what it looked like correctly?

also, nice to see they are now allowing phones/headphones, not allowing them was ridiculous

2/5 had a list of probably 40+ and there were several empty tables...so some things are definitely still the same

Do the two casinos still combine their bad beat pools? Thanks!

No, Fallsview's 10%-raked BBJ is only $10,289, while Casino Niagara's raked BBJ is $186,138.

What does 10%-raked mean?
Fallsview Casino Resort (Niagara Falls, Ontario) Quote

It means casinos that introduces the terrible BBJ can now take 10% or millions of dollars from the money collected as an adminstration fee or extra rake. In a zero sum game, a BBJ makes most players lose more in the long run, the casino gets a bigger piece of the pie, and a few luckboxes wins the BBJ with no poker skill involved.

While your point is correct about the rake and distribution of money, the positive effect of the BBJ is that it increases traffic to poker rooms, often with "BBJ chasers". These players play infrequently and can be generalized as below average players and net losers in the game. BBJs aren't perfect, but they can improve the action in a poker room.

What's up with parking these days?

I played at Fallsview on Sunday, from about 4pm until 7:30pm. Brush swiped my PAC card when I sat down, so I thought I was good. Get in my car to leave, attendant says I owed $5. Did I not log enough hours? Posted rate was $10 when I entered.

Does Casino Niagara still have free parking as long as you have a PAC card?

Like Nash indicated, you likely didn't swipe out. It happened to me once where I forgot and there went $5... They could do a better job letting players know to swipe out but one thing at a time at Fallsview...

I've literally never swiped out and have never had an issue with parking.

No idea what you guys are saying about swiping out

I think most players stopped bothering to have our cards swiped when we sit down after the comps disappeared, but I always make sure to have my card swiped when I cash out to make sure that I won't be charged for parking.

It's happened to almost every reg that doesn't play table game for some reason they just crack down from time to time and 'black list' players who either haven't swiped in much or never swipe out.

I have had several arguments with people over this and at one point they made me stop at the PAC counter on my way out and get a voucher (free) to prove I was in the casino...and I play over 100 hours a month.

Typically happens around tourist season when some people do abuse the parking but makes me mental when they black list a local reg.....has happened to most of us though.
