Are there plans for a real poker room somewhere in the GTA in the near future?

Are the 1/2 games being moved to FV during the series or are they cutting them out entirely?

If you mean the tournament series then no. It's actually hard to get on a $2/5 table during the series because they run so many $5/10 and PLO games.

There's no demand at all for $1/2 in that room.

I wonder if they will keep running the tournament series if FV room is moved, or are the separate entities?

yea its mostly all 5/10+ during series except if they open some cash games in the tourney area? like they did last year i think those are all 2/5.

They're converting broken tournament tables into 2/5 so you have a good chance of getting on quickly in the evening once people start busting. Bring chips if you can as there was a huge line for the cashier, but open seating.

Stay safe y'all.

Don't think I would walk from FV to CN.

Probably a week before it happens *shrug*

Even the staff don't have any details right now.

I was there on Thursday and one of the dealers said she heard it might not be ready until 2018.

I have never noticed anything beyond a few harmless beggars that weren't aggressive. It could have been a bad day or a gang of losers getting together and causing mayhem until a group of undercover cops bust them.

Ps the cab fare to Niagara is about 7 or 8 bucks before a tip so it's not unreasonable and if you split it with a buddy it's about the same price as public transportation.

Was there last night. Pit boss said the fallsview room is shutting down next week. There will still be 5 tables running at Fallsview and about 20 at CN when the change happens. Damn, this sucks

Is the Casino Niagara poker room open when Fallsview closes next week? What will be replacing the 12 poker tables with all those giant TV screens?

Other tables games. 5 poker tables moved to the other side of the floor. Between the washrooms and cage closest to the current poker room.

Why keep any tables at all? Having 5 tables is just going to frustrate ppl who wait forever for a game

So it'll be exactly the same as it is now?

Keeping 5 tables at fallsview means that you'll have 5 good games running at fallsview, and a terrible selection at casino niagara.

Fallsview is the much busier property, which is half the reason the game at fallsview is as popular as it is. You're going to lose a lot of casual/tourist players by moving to CN.

You're going to further segregate the player pool by offering $1/2.

I won't be surprised at all if poker does altogether and people stop coming from Toronto

Hopefully places like GBH, woodbine, Rama and Brantford try to capitalize on players not wanting to drive to Niagara. Each room would have to make (major) changes but hopefully one of the GTA properties sees this opportunity

I think having 5 tables means those five tables will just be full of people who arrive at 9 in the morning on weekends (or 3 in the afternoon on weekdays) -- not good.

But, we'll see how it goes soon enough.

What a sh*t show. Can't wait till they get bankrupted. Run by a bunch of imbeciles. I bet I could randomly pick a handful of ppl ITT and they'd have it better run than that circus freakshow known as F+CN.

This is classic socialism and with any competition both casinos would be heavily in the red. Compare this with Seneca and it's frightening how people that run both poker venues are near clueless.

Like others have said this could kill Toronto tour bus players and the casual richer walk up crowd, who will lose in the pits or at the slots. Beyond a high BBJ I expect Niagara to look similar to how it looks now(near dead).

So the room is closing, or moving to CN or a new location? Seems like a great opportunity for someone in Toronto to get their **** together and open up a real card room.
