6+1 is much worse. Plus there are no free 20 minute periods. Like others have said 2/5 games will get much tighter as the novice richer tourist will probably play 1/2 now. Also many might not even bother to go to the local low level casino to begin with as the tourist buses drop you off at Fallsview.

I hadnt even thought of that, the busses only go to Fallsview so thats tons of players who likely wont make the walk over to CN. Sad days ahead for poker in the GTA

Also the walk in winter is a killer and takes 20 to 25 minutes, but it can be broken up by entering a tourist trap shop to warm up. I think some local tourist type buses from Hamilton and Welland go to Niagara but that's about it as far as I know. Another huge bad beat could temporarily raise the temperature of the room but aside from that the action could be fairly nitty at both levels.

Ps when I have mentioned to some players if they play at Niagara 1/2 that's the first thing they mention how the action is near dead.

Please post the feedback as I know the poker management is watching. They need to hear both the good and bad and what needs to change to make Poker thrive again in the falls. Its the players that determine if a room fails or works well, so by providing what needs changing hope they take the feedback as a positive measure for a better game. Remember one thing June 2019 the contract ends and will go out to the big casinos to run. by enlarging the room I hope they will offer much more.

Will they expand the total # of tables that used to exist between both locations? I don't go play because it's always a 2-3 hour wait. If I knew I could be seated in 30 min or less I'd go much more often

5 tables will remain at Fallsview for big games
all other games move to Old Niagara, they will continue with 2/5, 1/2, 5/10, 10/20 as well as PLO as the room is being expanded.
Changes coming as for daily, monthly, quarterly more tournaments. Will post once details become available
With the room expanding and moving the Bravo system they are hope seating will be much quicker.

my guess it will house maybe 2/5 and up but they are trying to please tourist types
with tripling the old Niagaras room and offering more tournaments it may cut into Seneca and Brantford a touch

I don't think it's been officially determined. Rumours are they will keep 5-6 poker tables at FV but I've also heard they will be electronic tables like woodbine so who knows.

I expect that after the FV classic they will annouce it officially. The spring version of the new room that will be where Yuk Yuks is now is temporary. The permanent poker room will be where the old VIP room was which has been closed for several years. But the actual room (old CN VIP room) is great has a view of
the falls....could be a world class room if someone else ran it!

fallsview and niagara are 5 min apart. I don't think it will have a big enough impact to pull players from brantford and seneca unless they start offering something they dont. if anything i think they'll lose fallsview players who dont like the way niagara is run

5 mins if you have a car. A large percentage of the player pool takes the bus from the GTA and as someone else mentioned that 20 min walk can be nasty in the winter.

combining rooms makes sense... just wish it was at fallsview

hopefully this means more tables, reduced wait times, and a better run room

more tournaments would be awesome, Niagara, ON is capable of hosting multiple 1m + gtd events per year, i'd love to see it

they finally woke the hell up and allowed players to use their phones, they also need to get rid of the rule where it cant be on the rail

also please give the poker room its own dedicated cage in the room

these are things every poker room ive ever been to do, not asking for much

I don't have much faith that things will improve based on how poorly things are run now, but hopefully they will prove me wrong

you and I both are hoping they proof us wrong we met with Poker Management a few weeks ago and gave them a long list of feedback and recommendations hope they take it serious. They stated that the feedback was appreciated and told us exciting changes were in the works as they will reveal the plan during the Wpt Fallsview

My 2cs:
-better to combine into just 1 room so all the poker players know where to go and if want to switch levels, much easier
-hate session fees due to many factors, better to have a rake
-Woodbine would give them competition? Not sure about that, it's like a battle of Dumb & Dumber as to who is actually the worse-run poker venue lmao
-just look at whenever the Classic shows up, they act as though it's the 1st run, phones jammed, super-busy wait times, frantic staff...cmon, it's like putting a bunch of newb staff on the busiest period of the year, clearly unacceptable yet they keep doing this yr after yr after yr...they don't really care about poker players, look at the lousy blind structures, just 100bbs for the $1,100?! really??
-can't wait for Toronto to finally have its own REAL casino to blow these bums outta the water. they are clearly spoiled and obviously dun give a crap about anything, at least from the poker end

Session fee so much better.....especially at 5/10 and up. Rake would take a lot more money off the table

But youre viewing session fees from the lens of a serious poker player. A casual recreational player would rather have rake as they wont notice whats being removed when they win a pot, but theyll always notice a session fee. The goal should be to attract more casual players and not to appease grinders

being a rec player doesn't mean being a brain-dead idiot, pretty sure most people who can dress themselves in the morning can figure it out. also pretty sure rec players who are buying in for a deece three figgies are not getting bent out of shape over seven dollars.

Every conversation I've seen between a new player who is seeing a time collection for the first time has gone like this:

"What's this?"
"They take $7 every half hour instead of raking money from the pot"
"Oh okay"

No griping, no long deliberation over which system is better, they just put the dollars in the middle and move on.

Why did they even add TVs and remodel the poker room like 6 months ago if they are shutting it all down?

so dumb makes no sense, kills off the casinos income from people who bring non-poker players to the casino.

I literally will NEVER return to fallsview when they close their poker room. and LOL at going to casino niagara. never, never, ever.

Oh well, maybe in the future a real poker room in a real casino will open up that doesnt suck in the GTA or niagara region. Casino niagara isnt the answer. its such a downgrade LOL

Ill hit fallsview up a few more times before they move it then ill never return to niagara region in my lifetime.

Its funny because i usually bring multiple mid-tier slots players with me when i visit. Now the casino group that runs fallsview gets $0 of that expendable money. Derp good job if your reading this fallsview, you just shot yourself in the foot.

Cant wait til ceasers or MGM or some **** buys the location out from whatever morons are currently running the place in a few years. A real casino will for sure build a real poker room.

About session, I dunno about you guys but $14/hr adds up. Rake is better imo since it's the cost of winning the pot, session I'm getting hammered even when I'm carddead, which happens a lot hahaha.

Speaking of which, what tangible improvement did they really do versus pre-reno? Such a waste of time and money. Add more TVs? Finally at long last put in the card swipe system? Whoopie-do. Useless. They still take FOREVER to open up a table, totally inefficient. They should be counting their lucky stars they have absolutely no competition because they would be bankrupt within one week!
