I don't frequent tournaments, so i will not be playing. If I had to guess i would think they get around 80-100. Mainly depends on how many will travel from other card rooms to play. Would be interested in hearing a final count

The last tournament of the month is usually pretty decent. It ended up with 104 runners.

I attended and it was another good tournament. there were 295 entries and the prize pool was over $47K. I like this room. It is friendly, the dealers are good and you can get food from any of their restaurants delivered right to your table. I wish it was closer to my home. They are having a $100,000 guarantee on September 7th... I booked my room for that while I was there yesterday.

I am on their email list. The information below was included in an email I received recently. On Saturday nights they have a 2500 guarantee that usually gets 5 or 6 tables and on Sundays they have a bounty tournament that also has a 2500 guarantee. Hope this helps.

Daily Tournaments at 1:15pm and 7:15pm:

1:15 pm

Monday through Saturday Texas Hold’em Tournament with $1,000 guarantee. In addition to the 1st place prize the winner receives a free seat into any tournament within the next 20 days including the next $25,000 guarantee. Participation is usually 20 to 40 players.

7:15 pm

Sunday through Thursday Texas Hold’em Tournament with a $1,200 guarantee. These tournaments all have bonuses attached in addition to the prize pool. Participation is usually 25 to 45 players.

$5,000 guaranteed Fridays at 7:15 pm

$25,000 guaranteed last Friday of every month at 7:15 pm

The Sunday 7:15 pm says 6 freerolls into the $100k on 9/7. Is that 6 seats every Sunday or overall?

I was there last night for the Friday night tournament so I checked for the answer to your question.
The six seats are being given away on September first. Each seat is worth $595.00. It is a reward for players who participate in the Sunday night league. Each of the top four finishers will recieve one of the seats. Two other seats will be given out with a raffle for league participants who did not finish in the top four spots. There are five weeks left in the league. The floor who answered my questions said that if there were other questions, players could call the poker room at 302-857-3275 for answers.

Last night’s tournament paid 8 spots and first place was $1785. Usually I only play weekends so I do not have a lot of information on the daily tournaments. Last Saturday I played both tournaments and the day tournament paid 5 spots and first place was over $1000. The evening one paid 6 places and first was over $1200. I did not make the money for either so I do not know if there was a chop. I know that the evening tournaments are all guaranteed and there is no minimum number of players needed to qualify. The winner gets a free seat into the same tournament next week. I like the room because the tables are not on top of each other and the players for the most part are nice people.

I was there. There was no overlay and it was another great tournament. I finally finished in the money but didn't make the final table. I wanted one of those trophies. I like this room and don't understand why it doesn't get more 2+2 attention.

I'll be in Delaware this weekend and was thinking about playing in the 7:15 PM 5k tournament. How many runners do they usually get for this tourney?

Coming up with a few guys from my home game in SE VA and looking for more details on the 40k this weekend.

All I can really find on the website is that it is 199 buy and 7500 starting chips. No info on levels or how much of the buy actually goes to the pot or anything. >.<

I played in the last $40K tournament so I can tell you what I know. There were 280 to 290 entries. The prize pool was between $47k and $48K. You can get into the tournament through the first four rounds. The last one ended between 9pm and 10 pm but I think it started an hour later than this one. The field is very soft for a $40K.
This is the structure that is used off their website... http://m.doverdowns.com/library/Tour...rch%202013.pdf

If that does not open you can go to the poker page at DoverDowns.com and find it there.
http://m.doverdowns.com/poker-room/

The first two were well run...started on time...competent dealers...they put out some free food.

If there is a chop the paperwork reflects the actual amount received and they are the only poker room that I know that does that.

Last week they started rating tournament players same as cash players so you will be earning comps when playing tournament poker...only poker room that I know that does that.

Some players told me that the poker room is waiting for approval from the state for a tournament bad beat jackpot. I asked a floor about the BBJ but was told they could not give out details until the state approved...so I guess it is true.

I have been to all the bigger tournaments that they run. I like the room and wish it was closer to my home. I hope this helps and I hope to meet you at the final table.

Last year for Thanksgiving weekend the room was full From Friday afternoon until Sunday late. Lots of newbies in the tournaments on holidays. If you need a room the hotel is top shelf...better book now.

Went last night (Friday). Got there around 4:30. They had one 1/2 table going and 3 guys waiting at another 1/2 table. I sat and waited, it wasn't until about 5 that we got 6 guys and played at half rake. By 6 there were 2 1/2 tables going and a 2/4 LHE table. The 7:15 tourney got about 30 runners and I played in that (didn't cash, KK < JJ). By the time I left (around 11) there 2 1/2 tables, a 2/4 LHE table and they got a 2/5 table going.

The dealers emphasized how much they appreciated us coming out and you could tell the room is hurting cuz of MD LIVE. It is a great room though when you don't want the controlled chaos of MD LIVE. Not sure what it's like during the week but it looks like you can still find a little bit of action on the weekends. I'll be back around thanksgiving.

This is such an underrated room, and I have been incredibly impressed with all of the dealers, staff members and players in general.
IMO, Dover isn't trying to compete with Md. Live, because they don't spread high-limit games, rather they offer all of the decent, lower buy-in tourneys and cash games along with good promotions that a smaller rooms would run.
The room manager said he implemented a no ******* rule (his exact words, not mine), which definitely eliminates a number of 20-somethings who actually think they're good at poker and love to ridicule other players after what they perceive to be a bad play.
It's a good room with plenty of space, and the restaurants are also very good, and have fantastic food. The player-friendly blinds structure is one of the best in the northeast.
One side note: a recent change allows players to receive the SAME amount of hourly comps as they offer in cash games. Can't go wrong with that.

This room is still not on Bravo and has no live game report anywhere AFAIK.

Played some 1/2 there on 1/1 and 1/2 and the room was very slow. They are really hurting since the opening of the poker room at MD Live. In talking to one of the managers Fran, she said their business is down at least 50-60%since they opened. They have all kinds of promotions going, including rating Tournament play the same as Cash, increased points/comps per hour, etc. But nothing seems to be working. Barely had enough for 1 table in a midday guaranteed tournament. Hopefully people get tired of the long waits to play at MD Live and start migrating back to Dover. Its a shame, its a very nice room.

My only complaint about this room really. They, along with Harrington, seem to be the only rooms around that aren't using the Bravo system.
