amazing that the bad beat has risen to that level. I heard that Harrington hit a few weeks ago, but is already back to $60K.

I got a call from Dover Downs a few days ago saying that they're giving me a free room on a non weekend day. Pretty sweet. I don't even play there that often.

I just went to Dover Downs for the 1st time this past weekend, and did fairly well! I played 1-2 nl, bought in for $200 and cashed out for $995 friday night! I plan on going this weekend again and hopefully get on a heater again!

Anyone know what the bad beat jackpot is now? The last post mentioning it was in November and at the time it was over 100k.

The jackpot was 109,700 Yesterday. It is going up incredibly slow now because they are only putting 10% of the drop into the 1st jackpot. 60% into the 2nd and 30% in a 3rd. The second jackpot is almost 90k and when it hits 100k the current jackpot will start moving at a better pace again.

Hey everyone - Getting ready to go to Dover Downs to play some Poker tomorrow. Anyone want to give some tips about this place? I'll be showing up around 11, might play at the 12 tournament (still thinking about it). Let me know whats up!

The lack of responses speaks volumes about this casino or at least indicates a general lack of interest on the forum.

Looks like Delaware Park is the casino of choice in Delaware. That means those of us coming from the Salisbury/Ocean City lower shore area have quite a haul to get there. -sigh-

IMHO their $1-2 NLH is noticeably softer than DP, but I've only played at Dover three times and only Sat evenings. I'll be downstate for travel baseball (@SATB) the following two weekends, so will try Harrington again. It was a mess last summer, but guess that's to be expected. I'd expect it to be very soft also, but you never know. I wouldn't bother driving another hour to get to DP if you're just looking for a $1-2 NLH, $2-4 LHE, or cheaper tourney, Dover will do.

I traditionally park i the main parking lot in front of the hotel entrance. I've been told that there's a parking lot in the back that is convenient to the poker room but I'm not sure here it is.

Going to be rolling through Dover next Thursday in the afternoon. What kind of action can I expect in the room?

2 to 3 tables of 1/2 NL and a limit game. 2/5 later. Unless something is going on with Nascar. In that case, busier.

Does this room still take $1 for the BBJ from each pot that has action on the blinds (instead of $1 from every pot $20 or greater)?

I think you are thiking of Harrington, they would take a BBJ drop even on a 3$ pot. Dover will not take one unless there is a flop or 20$ preflop.

I visited Dover on Tuesday night. Only two 1/2 tables going. I enjoyed myself as the table was soft except for one player and notched a 2 X buyin profit. It's the middle of the series at DP. I got sick from someone...damn dirty money. I wash my hands so much, but missed those germs from the "running nose" guy next to me. I was told they got 54 players for their $550 main event in late March, which is really big. I wonder if DP will get 3 to 4 times that for the event 15 this Saturday.

I'd do something to get more business if I was running the place. Lessons maybe. Possibly nothing can be done because of the relatively low population base. Hiding the room on the third floor can't help. It is a nice room, nice dealers, many of them players. I just think they could help themselves more. Two tables aren't enough, it kind of reminded me of Salamanca's room in Nowheresville, NY.

I agree with you layemdown. Dover Downs has a great room but it's so tucked away in the casino no one but the regs know where it is. Also their lack of limit games probably hurts them drawing the older crowd (which is huge in Dover). Del Park runs the 4/8 with 2$max rake the Downs should have something similar.
