Re: Dover Downs Poker Thread

I played out there for a few hours last night, and overall it was a good experience, being my first time playing in a casino. However, there were a few dealers that were just bad. At one point, there were 3 (THREE) misdeals in a row. We didn't see a hand for almost 20 minutes. After that, I think there was a shift change or some other rotation change, because I didn't have a bad dealer for the rest of the night.
My opinion is that the dealers can only get better, as the poker room has been open less than a week.

I'm a dealer here at Dover Downs so if anyone has any questions I'll be happy to answer them as best as I can.

Please relay to management to consider changing the bad beat jackpot drop rules from "$1 from each pot that has action on the blinds" to "$1 from each pot $20 or greater". It is silly to take a $1 from each pot under $20, when to qualify for the BBJ, the pot needs to be $20 or greater.

I enjoyed playing there, but I will not play there as much in the future if the room continues to drop $1 out of a $6 pot for a BBJ.

Will do. And I agree with you on that aspect too.

Also I've heard we'll be having tournaments in 4-6 weeks! No info on the buy-ins/rake but I can assume they'll be similar to what Del Park is doing.

Sounds good. Which games are running regularly in the poker room?

Re: Dover Downs Poker Thread

We're mostly running 1-2NL in the room with an interest list for 2-5 that I've seen go on occasion. For right now it seems to be mainly a weekend game but since people ask for it every day I'm sure once the room really gets going it will be a regular game.

We've also had a 1-2 PLO8 on the weekend as well.

Any limit games going on a regular basis?

Re: Dover Downs Poker Thread

Just 2-4 right now. If we get enough players we'll put any game out there. We've had a few players show interest in starting a 4-8 game as well.

According to all of the locals (players and coworkers) Dover isn't much of a summer tourist town. They all expect the room to explode once the summers over and everyone gets off the beach. We have two colleges right around here that will be starting up again mid august, I expect our room to be going full speed by then.

Please... I am well aware of the capacity of Dover. Just ask around the property and they will tell you of the entire sections that sit empty during the race. They actually cover the empty seats with advertizing banners so it will not look as bad on TV.

Re: Dover Downs Poker Thread

How crowded is the poker room on the weekends? Is there a long wait for a 1/2 table?

Also, do you know if they will have round the clock sit n go's next month ? What about tourneys? I've been waiting for tourneys and cannot wait!

Thanks..

Re: Dover Downs Poker Thread

GG.

What were the hands?

I've been there twice. Nice, clean room. 2/4 LHE was juicy, but it's a rake trap and not really worth it. Wish they'd spread some higher limits, maybe 4/8-5/10.
