Also, I'm not a PLO or NLHE player by trade, (but am willing to play it in a more extensive 4/8 mix where I buy-in for like $250-$300).
Still - would love to see it go just to keep the mixed games things going. Also - if I am there when this goes and am able to go on a heater at 4-8 then I would certainly walk over with a buy-in.
You're not the only one in the Delaware park player pool who is comfortable at the top at 4/8 and stretched to 5/10. Probably me too. That's one reason I'd like both games to be able to be played. I'm an "either or" kind of guy when it comes to hold em and am happy to play 1/2 NL or 4/8. The nine game, therefore, is right up my alley and I really enjoyed Badugi and Triple draw. I'm also comfortable at 6/12, but probably play a bit different (not sure if that's bad or good....probably bad). What I like about the five game, is it's probably not going to take the regular limit guys away from their game nor make limit players want to play NL or PLO, but it may get some of the NL guys interested in limit. At least that's my theory. Ideally, both the five game and nine game would run at the same time.
Do I sound like I've been smoking a fatty? BTW, I don't do that! Don't do drugs!
It's all conceptual now and just a discussion. If people begin to sound interested, I may come out of retirement and become the "game coordinator". It also might be to early to do something like the 5 game. Possibly, the best course of action is to continue to promote the nine game until it sustains itself and runs without coordination. I sure don't want to kill one for the other. But, it would be great if these games ran individually too. How would you like to walk into Delaware Park on a Friday night and be able to choose between limit hold em, limit badugi, limit triple draw, stud or NL hold em and have all or even a couple of those games running? Or even 2-7 SD NL or Badugi PL, which I've read is as wild as it gets...... more so than PLO. Presently, many players know how to play HE, limit 08 Omaha, PLO....some may know how to play stud, but not many very well..... and almost nobody knows what 2-7 is and......... Badugi may be a "fatty". I usually get a "what's that?" or "how's that played" or "badu-what".
