Re: Delaware Park (Wilmington, DE)
I was talking to the Tournament Director today. The Poker Challenge is a 5 K added with only 55 players qualifying with 40 points. That is huge!!!!! Prize pool will be over $7500 with only a $65.00 buy in @ 6 PM tomorrow night for those that made 40 points in June assuming they all come. What if only 25 show up? Chop it up for $300 a piece or play it down? I should have played more of those. Screwed by my travel schedule.
I did not see Kevin today but did talk to numerous players about Big 0. A lot of interest in that game Kevin!

Re: Delaware Park (Wilmington, DE)
Problem with a 2-4 HORSE is the antes don't really work as DP won't put quarters in play like the Taj does. You could try a $2 button ante or something, but then when you have walkers it gets out of whack. You'd have to give them missed blinds buttons or something.
On the tourney side, I would love to see DP do the "Pot Limit Mixed Games" tourney that we do in my home game on occasion:
Pot Limit Hold'em
Pot Limit Omaha
Pot Limit Omaha High/Low
Pot Limit Crazy Pineapple
That might get the no limit hold'em and PLO junkies more interested.

Kevin
On these hot afternoons, can you consider moving the tourneys into the tourney room? This afternoon we were in the back of the cash room by the window. Man,it gets hot.

Re: Delaware Park (Wilmington, DE)
How many of the posters here play 1-2?
Should I worry about running into you all when I start playing regularly?
Moving into the area next week.
Also, hi everyone. How's the DE poker scene?

3/6 mixed game runs regularly (weekly) at IP in Vegas. Why wouldn't 3/6 work at DP, aside from management intransigence?
Also, pretty sure that 4/8 died from a combination of full rake starting up and O8 gaining traction. Answer: Bring back the small rake!!!

You can take my place. I'm moving out of the area next week. It's a nice room, proactive management, willing to listen to the customers. You'll like it here. Nice promotions. Take a look at the monthly schedule if you have any interest in tournament poker. Lots of free seat promotions, in fact, I won one today. Did not capitalize.
All on the web site @ http://www.delawarepark.com/poker_promotions.php
Got four match play coupons and hit 3 of 4 bet on "black" on the roulette wheel which made me $50 @ $10.00 per bet, paying $20. Not sure those are for everyone, but I just gave the promo desk my card and was handed four. I love those things. I remember when they were just on the floor during the classic and I collected them. I still have four more. What a value!
Nice time today. First hand in cash I doubled up with a flopped set at 1/2. I also ran into one of the better players at DP who seems to have moved successfully up to 2/5. Hopefully over the next week, I'll get to see some of my other "poker buddies" before I head out to Texas.

Re: Delaware Park (Wilmington, DE)
I spent another day yesterday at DP filling up my poker needs before the drought. I hope to be over there again tonight. Reallly great to see and say my good byes to Randy/River Joe and Mike. Good and profitable players who are my "poker buddies".
Two interesting things:
1. Kevin has paid attention to the 2 plus 2 board and will add Big O as a game. There is paperwork and lottery approval required, but he is going to put it in the works. Look for the game in a month or two to be spread-able and someone to make an announcement.
2. The Iron Man will be held on August 25. This "no break" tournament will require $600 to get a seat and will set a world record if they get 400 players. There will be many satellites to the game and will feature one hour levels, with all sorts of levels added to insure time. We did not talk about coverage, but I hope they have some commentary to the live stream this year and if not , at least sound. I'll talk m ore to him about this in the future. Also, I'll be adding a specific thread for the 2012 Ironman.....one of my last efforts to get the word out. Last years Ironman top prize was $42,000 and ran about 32 hours.

Re: Delaware Park (Wilmington, DE)
The next five days should be fun at DP beginning with today's noon 12pm - $200 - NLH
15,000 Chips, 25min Levels. I am a little surprised there is not a 9 AM satty in this one with an extra two or three seats. I have plans and can't make it there by noon. I wonder about an overlay in this one since it is guaranteed at $20,0000.
Then a $7,500 Guarantee, 4pm - $100 - NLH. I may make this one if I even get a hint at an overlay. As many know, my tournament game is still such that I look for the values.
Thursday's noon $7500 should get crushed as many people will take off. I have a full day and won't be playing poker at all. If I could play, I'd be at the 4 PM $150 Omaha 8/B, $7,500 Guarantee. I was able to chop up the substantial overlay a few weeks ago when they spread the same game with only 42 players. You guys that like this game may think about it. Either way, I'm out.
Friday again, no 9 AM satty which I would have put in. The noon $20,000 Guarantee 12pm - $200 - NLH may also need help getting the field large enough to exceed the guarantee. But you HORSE guys, like myself, will have another shot at that game at 4 PM for $150 and a $7500 guarantee. That game also had an overlay the last time out and I'm a bettting this will be the last breath for this game if it see's another small turnout.
Saturday, I will be there for the 9 AM satty which I'm 0 for a billion. But, the $2000, four seat added is just too much to pass up. Heck, I like cash anyway and results indicate I'm much better at that game. So busto-casho. It's all OK. Where am I going to spend my BR anyway? The noon 40K should attract some players, but I'd try to add some sit n go's on Friday night.
Sunday's $200 buy in 20K also has a seat added to the Ironman Challenge, worth of course, $600. Lately Sundays have been good, but I'll be calling over to find out about overlays and plan on a session Sunday anyway.
Looks like a fun, long weekend. Hope to see many of you at DP on Today/Saturday/Sunday. Have a great fourth
A Suggestion to Kevin. Put sit n go's on the board now with lists for those 20K's and the 40K. I'd put them up for 08 today too. Why not?

If not, could it? I like that DP is always open to spreading different games, and I see that even a 1/2 Big O game has been very popular at the WSOP this year.
As I probably won't be making it out to Vegas any time soon, it'd be nice to try this game on the East Coast.

See post above. Game is a Go!!!!!!!!!! Your doing and now you've left your mark at DP and the east coast "Big O" first legal game is your brain child. Recuit players for the game. I'd play, but I'm gone, gone gone.

Re: Delaware Park (Wilmington, DE)
Just a reminder that tomorrow, July 5th is the O8 tourney with a $7,500 guarantee. It played last month with a big overlay. If you want to see this played regularly, come out and support it.
I understand the top money winner last month was a first time player.

Re: Delaware Park (Wilmington, DE)
I just called over. There's not an overlay for the noon. In fact a great prize pool with 172 registered and coutiing up. Wonder what the 4pm will have.
For some reason my wife is bucking me playing today. Doesn't she get that we'll see enough of each other when we get to Texas. She needs to learn to play 2/4. I'll stake her. I went over for breakfast using every chance I get to go through my last 200 points. Too cheap to let them go. The poker room was calling me but she was having none of that. I saw one of my friends at the Atm ....... not a good sign for that 2/5 player
