Thank you. To be honest Im at work and didn't want to comb through 11 pages of posts looking for those two answers. But the 3/6 HORSE will definitely get me there when I make my next trip. I'm 35 minutes from AC but more than happy to travel the extra 15 minutes to play this

Re: Delaware Park Poker Room News

The HORSE has only went once when I was there, and I have been there a bunch.

I'm just saying...you should come to DP, but be prepared to play 1/2NL or 3/6 LHE if 3/6 HORSE doesn't go (or play 2/5 NL...they've got a good one going).

Re: Delaware Park Poker Room News

I played the $3-6 HORSE game twice Fri-Sun and the $10-20 LHE. Pretty typical players, no geniuses or short-bus kids. The 10-20 did have a weak spot or two when I played, but about what you'd see at Borg or Taj. Think most of us were refugees from the insane NLH lists or those wanting a mixed game under 10-20. I'd gave preferred to bump it to $6-12, but maybe that'll come as more get their feet wet. I had fun, except the 400yd hike to my car at 3:30am.

Re: Delaware Park Poker Room News

I played the 3-6 HORSE game Friday daytime/early evening and donated. Did flop my first royal flush (raised 10jcc utg and flopped akqccc obv) and got paid by the big blind who had 29cc . Donated for a while and moved to play in a 1/2 game. That game was remarkably soft. It was the first one on the rail when you enter. There were two competent players there. Did I play with anyone here? I'm mid 20s yellow shirt/green hat and was super-talkative (probably too much so )

WORLD'S MOST BORING DE PARK TRIP REPORT

I was in the area and so I detoured to Delaware Park on Sunday afternoon. Shortly before 5 p.m., every table was in use except one (one of those tables appeared to have a HU game going- I couldn't see the stakes from teh rail).

They had an interest list for $3/6 HORSE (five deep), $3/6 O/8 (10 deep) and $5/10 stud (five deep). There were four tables of $3/6 hold'em going, with a 10 player waiting list. There looked to be about 15 $1/2 NL tables going, all full.

I waited around for 20 minutes, didn't see any movement on the interest lists or the $3/6 LHE, so I decided that I had better things to do.... like sit in my house with the power knocked out.

Re: Delaware Park Poker Room News

Played Sunday for about 5 hours (12-5pm) and there were 6 tables going and got seated within 10 mins. Got the feel of Harrah's in the card room and there were plenty of TV's to catch about anything you wanted to watch.

I luckily got seated at a action table and it was good. One guy just hated money and was just dying to get it in with ATC. He would get his cards in behind and would suckout on the river but everyone was wanting his action. I did manage to hit a couple of set's 3's and 4's and they both paid off well. There were 2 competent players at the table and the other 7 were calling stations.

Overall, I enjoyed the room and the atmosphere. Most of the dealers were decent with 2 that were slow as hell. Did see a lot of players that I play with locally and 4 of them were at one table, -EV if you ask me. Will be going back Friday to catch some pay checks. I would recommend to get there on the weekend before 1pm so you can avoid the long wait to get on the tables.

Heading up this Friday for some holiday weekend action. What time does 5/10NL usually get started on Friday's? Anyone played in 5/10 at DP, overall thoughts?

Yes. The reason I ask is due to my limited limit play in AC. The few times I've played it, I've seen people buying in for $20 every other hand or so. In AC you can buy chips right at the table so it doesn't slow it down too much. I wasn't sure if there were a lot of people buying in short at this 3/6 game requiring chip runners non stop and slowing down even more. Sorry if this doesn't make sense.

That makes sense, but it is not the average buy-in you are worried about but the minimum buy-in. Generally, most 3/6 limit games have a $60 minimum buy-in, and you can't continually buy-in for $20 and wind up all-in at some point in the just about every hand you play. I was unaware AC allows you multiple short buy-ins.

I agree with a lot of these sentiments. Hopefully, the market is going to work the way that it should, and in the fight to retain market share, the AC casinos will offer more incentives for players to make these long drives. It would be nice to see hotel rates decline and comps increase. It bothers me that I make regular treks (at least a couples times a month on average) to AC to play cards, but I can't possibly log enough hours in the poker room to earn the small privileges associated with a Black Label card at the Borgata.

With the increased competition, maybe we'll even see something innovative for the area. In a crowded Las Vegas market, the Hard Rock created its "Poker Lounge," an atypical room with (supposedly) better drink service, tournaments with celebrity appearances, and action games (like "Trash Talking Tuesdays"). I'd stop short of saying that what the Hard Rock did has set any new standards for poker rooms, but I really applaud the effort to do something different.

So here's hoping that DP, Harrah's Chester, parx, and whatever casino finally gets built in Philadelphia combine to make this area a player's market for poker. The long waits at DP's new room demonstrate that the demand is here and the opportunities are great.

In AC, the min buyin is 10x the small bet....so for 3/6, $30.

Thanks. Looking forward to my first trip to DE Park. The only limit game I've played live is 2/4 in AC which is where I've seen the $20 buy in over and over. Glad to hear the min buy in is $60.

That explains the 10/20 fish constantly having C-notes ready.

I have seen a bunch of players buying in to the 3/6 game for $40 or $50. They tend to be the ones who lose it quickly and then reload.

Re: Delaware Park Poker Room News

i would say $150 is a good number to buy in for 3/6

most players have between $100-150 in the stacks, usually. and the few short stackers with the $60 min.
