First day of the Mid Atlantic Poker Championship today. Event #1 $340 NLH with $40000 guarantee. Any guess on how many players? I think they will just miss the guarantee with 128.

Pleasantly surprised by the guarantee being made for Event 1 MAPC. This room has always been good for tournaments. The structures are usually pretty solid. The over saturation of poker rooms along the 95 corridor has taken its toll. Still a great room with knowledgeable staff. Hopefully this series will bring players back here.

I'm heading up to Delaware Park on Monday for the $100 buy in deep stack tournament. I haven't been to DP in two years but always found it to be a great place to play. I used to make the trip to DP two to three times a month from the DC suburbs in Maryland.

I live in Bel Air, MD, and chose to drive the extra miles to Delaware Park over the closer Horseshoe in Baltimore because I've always been treated very well at DP.

I love Delaware Park and have been playing there for a couple years. They're tournaments are great, floormen are always nice, and they always have a few cash games going. NLHE, PLO, and LHE run regularly. I've never been on a wait list for more than 20 minutes and they're always quick to open new tables when 6 or more players are ready to go.

The only dealer that's been a problem is an older bald gentleman who's always in a bad mood. I've seen him piss off a whole tournament table when he demanded that a friendly regular make change for a $1000 chip. He capped it off by saying "You do what I tell you to do, when I tell you to do it" and than informed a new dealer coming in that this regular was a "problem", and he clearly wasn't joking around. Otherwise, the dealers are very friendly and for the most part fast.

Every player and dealer I've talked with isn't happy about the removal of the auto-shufflers on most of the tables. A couple weeks ago they still had them on some of their cash games tables. From what I've heard, the Mid-Atlantic series will be 100% hand shuffled.

Looks like they crushed the $15k guarantee on the $150 buy-in Colossal stack event ... Bravo is showing 248 entrants and over $29k prize pool.

I don't play many tournaments but this would have been a nice one to play in!

I wish but I'm SO TIRED because I stayed at del park playing cash for hours after the tourney ended and then "got in my car to drive home and definitely not play more" and somehow inexplicably ended up at MD Live... So yeah I need to rest.

Are you playing? Gl if so.

No, they missed it by about 14 players or so. Was a great tournament, and I really liked the staff.

Is this 1/2 PLO game becoming a regular thing now? Along with the 5/5 PLO that runs just about every day (sometimes with 2 tables), the 1/2 PLO has been going for the past 3 days according to Bravo.

What is the buy in for that game? Seems like a better game to start out in than the 5/5.

Thanks for the heads up. Played this Sunday night. It is a very good game.

Nice to see a PLO tourney on the calendar, but $1500 is an unusual price point. Harrah's runs a weekly $40 PLO then the next one in the area is $1,500. That is a pretty big spread. Here is hoping I run well in the 1-2 PLO to pay my buy-in.

Anyone have a guess about the turnout for this? Doesn't look like there were any satellites.

Noticed that the fine print on the flyer says the second day will be Sunday.

I did not see any satellites scheduled. I would definitely play a satellite. They do not run many NHLE tourneys at this price point, but when they do they always have several satellites.

I wish the room luck o the PLO championship. If they run more in the future, I hope they run a few satellites. The PLO players in the area travel well and most prefer DP.

Hadn't been there in a while but they still run top notch tournaments. This past Sunday for a $100 buyin you got 30k chips. 170 entries tournament lasted over 7 hours and ended in a 14 way chop for 844 per person. Love how del park does the chop payouts for you

loved the tourneys here, but lol at 14 way chop. I wasn't there, but I'm willing to bet that there are still heavy chop pushers (almost to the point of threatening), and the staff doing nothing about it.

Hope I'm wrong though.

30k chips is nice. I will have to venture back up there again soon.
