^They have a $340 25k scheduled for Saturday the 4th. It looks like they are not doing the Sunday freeroll anymore, and they added a "Deepstack Weekend" in February as well.

The satellite is still there, but they no longer have the 10 seats added. Now it's a 3 seat guarantee. The $3400 added and the freeroll on Sunday were both promotions that were going to end at some point in time, so it's not really a surprise there given the amount of interest seen in both satellites.

What concerns me is that the guarantees have been lowered in the daily 12pm and 7pm tourneys on Saturdays. That could significantly drive down the player pool, in the 7pm in particular since that's no longer a 5 digit number.

Deep Stack Weekend looks great. I think this forum was probably the driver for it.

I understand them ending the Sunday free super satellite, but I don't understand why they didn't replace it with a $30 super satellite. They have a regular super satellite crowd. I assume they don't pull enough rake to make it worth running?

Played in the room yesterday and spoke to C2 about the February calendar and the classic schedule. The Saturday guarantees have only been decreased temporarily. February is typically the slowest month of the year. I was told they have every intention of bringing them back up after the poker classic. Regarding the poker classic, I was told they had to make some modifications to the original schedule. Apparently, they were trying to add some additional tables but it fell through. So they had to modify the schedule due to space limitations. I’m told the flyers should be posted in a week or so after the schedule goes back through its approval stages.

After looking closer, the Sunday noon is a $65 tourney. So a $30 super satellite doesn't make sense.

What would make sense is running a Sunday 9am $30 -$60 super satellite for tourney lamers. They would pull in a nice crowd. Lots of super satellite regulars would rather take a lamer than enter a tourney in the 3-4 level. They have a nice hole in the schedule to try this out and increase Sunday morning traffic.

The Deep Stack Weekend looks good - marked down on my calendar already - will have to see the blind structures when they get those out. On the Sunday freerolls, they were aimed at driving traffic into the house for football, as well as attract newcomers into DP. Financially for DP it was the equivalent of $1300 added (20 spots for the $65 noon) plus overhead and dealers, so it was a promotion effort for both the parley and poker businesses, as well as the general house. Some of the marketing effectiveness got lost when, because of the first come, first served tix, the core local folks - who could get up and get there between 6-7 am - took more and more of the entries. Nothing wrong with that - just that it would seem they would want to broaden their player base further. Perhaps in the future offering the free rolls via pokertickets.com or some kind of drawing might be tried out. Grateful that DP did the innovation and helped raise the profile of the room.

Wild 4 pm DST yesterday - one of the free rolls from the cash room went all in the first hand (I was at the adjoining table so some of the details may be slightly off), got 3 callers and won 80k chips right off the bat. He was so tilted that he would reveal his hand, got penalized, but it didn't stop him from then bleeding all of the 80k chips to the newcomer to his left in the 10 seat in 4 or so consecutive no-look all-ins. The 10 seat then became the table captain and controlled the game from there, building his stack to over 100k+ chips. Even he bled off some chips from the euphoria. The freeroller could have just went back to the cash tables and let the 80 k chips ride and might have even made the money given the small field of 3 tables, or could have just abandoned the play at the start and enabled the table to play a 'regular' game. When the table became the final table, it was pretty miserable for all to face the superstack who lobbed disproportionate over bets and just ran over everyone. Fun in a way to confront this challenge but certainly not a typical tournament experience!

Why is the bad beat jackpot in this room moving at such a glacier pace. It last hit on Dec 5. Reset to 25k and is only up to 32k? I understand the one at Charlestown started Dec 19 has hit 2 times already, once for about 45k another for like 85k and is now at like 99k. How much is Delaware park taking out of the bbj? Seems very odd.

It moves slow cause the room has many promotions that use the bad beat money, such as free tournament seats and high hand.

[Sorry - post deleted -- I was linking to the 2011 Classic schedule, thinking it was this year's. Not sure why it's still out on the site.]

Might be off topic here but I just noticed that Foxwoods Poker Classic coincides with DP Classic but I'm pretty sure the Philly, DE, and South Jersey poker players are probably going to go to DP after WSOPC Caesars AC once the schedule is out (never been to Foxwoods at all so that's why I'm still trying to decide).

I think there might be an overlay in the noon today, so what the heck, I think I'll play it. Once my coffee kicks in, I might decide to play the satty
