It was a DP Saturday afternoon tourney. I'm still learning the live game.

They have 50 signed now, so there are plenty of seats. I have heard WIP's promo on the radio which went on for a long time, so the word is out to the public. Most of the WIP sports announcers, Hugh Douglas and a few other former Eagle's players will be there. Should be a wild night, but I'm particularly interested in the cash games once the tournament starts and players start tp bust. Many of those players, who I think won't be real experienced will be hanging around looking for their wild card. That's a lot of players. Like I said, I've already taken Weds off since it's going to be an all nighter regardless of how I do in the tournament. I still haven't locked up my seat but I will this weekend.

Cole, how are mints excessive I hate having inf chip stacks and only having 200$ or something. Also are there bus routes that go to Del Park, I live in Newark but dont have a car and my usual ride is busto/has car troubles.

Get $100 in red and $100 in yellow. Then you don't have stacks and stacks of chips.

Yea but 100$ in mint >> 100$ in red the game should be mints and canaries if the player wants

I played the 4/8 game today and think the yellow chips really help to move the game. I agree with the decision to make the game a 2.00 chip game. The number of hands per down was greatly increased. We played it today with a half kill.

I locked up my seat for the Bracket Challenge for 150.00. I was number 43 so there are many seats still available.

I talked to "number two" on the way out about flattening the payout for the 25,000 freeroll. I really like idea of paying more people and numerous players have agreed with me, both on 2 plus 2 and live in the room. He told me they are working on that and though it won't affect this Tuesday's game, the payout should will flatten out in April. It has to be approved and will take a little time, but it looks like our 40 hour play will mean a larger number of payout's in April. I hope they go all the way to 50. .

The room flip has been put on delay. It won't happen until after the bracket Challenge, and more likely won't change until after their April series. They want the nicest and largest room for their series and though I'd like to move now, it makes business sense. But, the Coverall Board doesn't go into affect until the room flip which is more important to me than where my table is located.

BTW, this time clock I've been on for two weeks with my wife is beginning to annoy me. Sure, it's nice to be around , but just because I travel three nights out per week shouldn't mean I can't put in 8 or 10 hours playing poker on the weekends. I'm on a short leash lately. Maybe the occasional hooker is a better way to live and Charlie Sheen in smarter than he seems. uhhhh , don't tell her I said that.

During the week there's a SEPTA train that stops in both Newark and Del Park. Also, there is a DART bus. This link is the PDF for the bus roues.

Can't let this thread drop below the third page!

Anyway, in response to the huge support for the yellow-chip 4/8, I provide a link to the countervailing wisdom of a different chip structure, to be found here:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27...-games-953723/
Even though I doubt anyone's mind here will be changed, and it may be that speed issues (given age distribution at the table?) supercedes the action issue.

Also, as a side note, made it to Borgata and played their 3/6 this weekend. Ugh. Don't know if it was the table r what, but the vibe wasn't there. PLUS, I made the mistake of picking the Holiday Inn along BLACK Horse Pike instead of WHITE Horse Pike. Oops. Inconvenience.

Will try to be at DP for either Saturday or Sunday's tournament, after which I will lose even more money at 4/8. Clearly I am on the down side of variance looking up.

No freeroll tomorrow?

I've made the same mistake at the Holiday Inn Express myself. And variance is not my friend right now. Do aces ever hold up? Does everyone hit the river flush?

Rumor has it that there are a bunch of guys coming up to play a 10/20 LHE game this Saturday at 5 or 6 PM.

BTW, the freeroll, which I expected to be on the short side because of the 28 day month was a larger field than usual. 197 runners for the 18 payout's. My whiff's continue as I lost a race at about 70. For some reason, I'm always able to score a W in cash ahead of the freeroll, so not a total loss. Lucky in cash and sucky in tournaments.

I guess I'm not going to sell any tournament packages. There's a couple of threads for them posted on two plus two. One guy from UD sold his 50% stake at 1.23 times entry for the $550 and $1070 in three minutes and has wait lists.

About 70 in the bracket pre regestered now. My ticket is punched and I look forward to an all night game..... cash or tournament.

Nice to meet you today Golfpro.

Just to be clear, he made a profit before he sat down and still has 50% of his own action?

Impressive.

Interesting... have they talked to any floors about this? My guess is that DP will refuse to spread a 10/20, but will allow a yellow chip 8/16 at 2+1 rake instead. 8/16 LHE has been on the board before but AFAIK it never got past 3-4 names. It would be awesome to see this game go.

They allowed 10-20 when the room opened, and my guess is they will allow it now. Why would you think otherwise? I think if players proactively would like to play a bigger game, that would be a good thing. 15-30 or 20-40 there would be even better; def would persuade me to make the drive as I like the room.

It was Anthony I over heard talking about the game, so I'm sure it will go if the players show. But, 8/16 is a 2.00 rake and the 10/20 is a 4.00 rake. I asked the time the game was planned and was told around dinner. I'm told it's a regular home game that plans to move to DP from the Baltimore area.

The board is up near the cage in the tournament room. They won't put it in play until the room changes places. My guess now is after the Classic.

Hi Layem,

Nice to meet you, sorry, didn't quite get a change for a long conversation.

I didn't fare that well in the freeroll. I was down to 2100 in chips as couple of hands didn't go my way. It was level 3, blinds 100/200, I tried to be creative with pocket aces and raised to 500 (figured will build the pot and shove no matter the flop). Four callers call, flop 10 3 7 rainbow, as planned, I shoved for 1600 more.

Two callers folded and the third one called 1600, the BB reraised forcing the third caller to fold. He had 103 suited.

So, that's all he wrote...

Played the 7PM and finished 5th.

Played cash in hopes of making the April freeroll. I have another 25 to go, I guess I will do that on or after the bracket challenge.

The play after midnight on the cash games was unbelievable. A few snippets:

1. Two players to the river, board reads K6J K 5, caller one was betting on all streets and as expected has the K, caller two called all streets and shows A7.
He said he misread his hand to the last one he played and thought he had AK - WOW.

2. Two players to the river, board reads 9 5 4 K J (two spades by the turn). I make the crying call with 89 spades, bettor on all streets shows 97 OS. My 8 plays and I double up.

3. I call a raise of 15 (with A4 Clubs). Flop the Nut Flush. Call the raisers all bets on preflop, flop and shove before the turn.

The board reads K87 8 A and I loose the pot to pocket aces.

As I said before I signed up for the bracket challenge and would be playing cash before and after the event.

I just called to check with the room itself on this question, but I got a pretty vague and unintelligible answer so I wanted to double-check with the community of regs here: does any LHE run through the night on weeknights? It could even be 2/4. Thanks in advance for any info.
