Walk around and watch the play during the week, as there are a number of regs there. Some regs are not so good (just play for entertainment), but others are solid players without the BR for 2/5. DP, because of it's location and lack of a close by major population base, isn't really crowded during weekdays at those time periods. You may find 7, 8 or 9 1/2 NL tables going on weekdays. Of those, 4 or 5 aren't tables that would be considered easy. As with any room, the play differs from table to table. If I sit during the week at a nit fest, I move. If after a couple of rounds, I see that the level of play may be lower at another table, I move. On the weekends, it's a different story. Lots of lose action and tables filled with players still learning the game, calling down value bets with crap. Of course, as happens with poker, yesterday I sat at a great table and got stacked. In fact, the worst and least experienced player at the table was winning the most. I don't mind that so much (after I get pissed at myself) because they'll be back.

Monday, Tuesday and Weds., they give away free seats for the 7 PM tourney every 6 minutes between 4 and 5 PM.

The big two questions for me today. Am I still tilting from my play yesterday and should I go over? And if I do want to go, how will I make my wife suggest I should go play poker? Maybe I should suggest taking her to DP for lunch. hmmmmm. It's like trying to figure out the right bet.

5575- 1
3600 -2
2500 -3
1700 -4
1100 -5
800 -6
700 -7
600 -8
400 -9
350 -10

250 -10 to 15
175 -15 to 25
150 -25 to 40
100 -40 to 50

There's your 25,000 and more players back in the cash room with money in their pockets.

Just my opinion. anyone else care to chime in?
I think this is a move that should be considered!

This would be a great move for all the regulars, they don't feel much goes their way with the low comps per hour vs others and lack of food comps etc. with this spread more people would feel they're getting something for all the hours they put in each month.

Layemdown - Thanks much for the info. Two questions -- First, when does registration start? (I wonder how quickly the 320 seat registrations will fill up.)

Second, I see it's generaly 5k starting chips (10k for final round) -- any word on how long the blinds rounds will be? I am assuming 20 minutes? 30 minutes would be nice, but doubt they can afford that.

Thanks again for all the info.

I work hard every month to get my 40 hours in for the freeroll. But I am a blank: zero for 4. I am starting to get demotivated to get the hours in because of the high variance of the bounty tourneys and the time that I'm putting in for a freeroll where I bust out before the final table.

Paying deeper would definitely motivate me to make my 40 hours this month.

You could just become a degenerate goon like me. 40 hours will then fly by.

Hi Layem,

As much as I hate to say it, I'm pretty sure they are running these brackets like "sit n go's" with 15 minute levels. I trashed the flyer, but may go over to DP today and will get another to confirm. I assume that whatever their "sit n go" level movement is, will be the bracket.

SNG rounds are 12 minutes I believe at DP.

Geeze, if we're only talking 12 minute rounds that's going to be pretty much bingo. It sounds like a darned fun tourny, but the short rounds would be disappointing.

Either way, this tournament should be pretty fun. I just saw the flyer Saturday and got pretty excited. I'm pretty sure it will just be a donkfest, but the design is original and looks like a good time.

It does seem a little odd to have to wait around until Thursday morning to play the wild card table is chosen, though I understand why they did that. Being a weekday is tough, this fact makes it tougher. Again, not a huge issue, just something to consider.

Good crowd this weekend...

They are taking registration for it now I was told today. I should have bought in while I was there and will probably do it at the freeroll.

Played my second tourney at Delaware Park yesterday. Haven't come in the money yet but I enjoyed the room.
I'd like to get a Omaha 8B table to play, but never seems to happen there.

I'm glad to find this thread.

You can register now, but if you do, I'm sure you have to pay. I asked how many were registered today when I was there and was told I should be fine registering next week.

$200/$1k

Pretty sure on the $200 min, 100% positive that it's $1k max.

I wouldn't buy in to that game for less than $500, though. It plays pretty big.

c'mon now, I mean... seriously, dude?
I'm fairly new to playing in card rooms/casinos, and have exlusively been playing 1/2 nl. I just didn't want to seem stupid by asking something that everyone around me seems to know.

Absolutely.

The flatter the structure the more happy regfish there are.

W/o investment in the tourney, any cash will be "extra" and create a positive association in the minds of each who participates.

So to clarify the contribution that "advances the conversation":
More winners= more folks with positive association
Winners for freerolls have more positive association even with small wins as no risk is involved
Big wins are unlikely to have the effect of smaller but more numerous wins.

Anyone interested in spreading a 1/2 PLO 1/2 NLHE game this coming Friday eve or weekend?

Dates proposed are 2/25,26,or 27.

As today is Thurs maybe there isn't enough time to line up enough guys, but if we can generate some interest we can also try to get it going for the weekend after this (march 4,5,6)

Suggested structure is ten hands PLO, ten hands NLHE alternating.

If the majority of players prefer PLO8, that's fine too.

Maybe with just a 2 game mix it will be easier to attract walk-ins to keep game going if we get it started; i for one am willing to start earlyish fri eve with 4 or 5 guys and see what happens. Actually, i'll play with 2 or 3 even altho don't know if tony will give up a dealer for that few players.

Post replies if interested and well see where we are at.

Cheers.

Hey everyone, how does the poker room compare to Dover Downs? I've been going there but would like expand my horizons a little since I don't get up to AC much anymore. Are there more tables going? Sounds like it from reading some of this forum but I might head up tomorrow.

As PLO always has a interest list, I really think this game will easily go. Talk to number two or the shift manager when you get there and ask him to put up "1/2 NL/PLO Mix" on the board
