Mixed runs about every other weekend right now....usually Fri night and Sat afternoon. The stakes are also 4/8 because we just don't seem to get enough people at 5/10.

I've only seen Omaha/8 run as 4/8, usually with a 1/2 kill.

The mixed game is on the board as 5/10 (but as Bioengineer points out, it starts often at 4/8) for limit rounds like hold em, stud hi and stud E, badugi and 2-7 TD, Omaha 08. It plays plo and nl holdem at 1/2 and also plays with a 300 max loss per hand. The group that starts the mix at seating decide the games in the mix and stakes. Some guys want it to play 6/12, but many don't want to play at that level. it's all a seating decision with the first six coming up with the details. Once started, it can only be changed by unanimous vote from the players, such as when someone wants to add a game or change the stakes. It's a lot of fun, but requires some coordination which I usually do because.... well, because I don't have that much of a life. But, this week work has really got in the way of my poker duties. I expect it to run (because of the three day weekend), but can't be sure. It can run as a 5 6 7 8 or 9 game. If 2-7 TD are in the mix it will play 8 handed with UTG and UTG plus one sitting that round with 8 hands per rotation.

Thx. I am thinking of coming up this weekend

BTW, the 1/2 plo runs very, very big and plays more like a 2/5 plo. Again, I'm 80% sure it will run both Friday night and Saturday.

It's President's Day weekend people! Let's get the game going Sunday as well--I know I will definitely be there that day and possibly Saturday as well.

Looking forward to some 2-7 TD

Hi Layem,

Missed you again yesterday, was there from 3PM - 3AM.

Looks like I am having a good run with the tournaments at DP. I finished 8th in the 7 PM.
It wasn't much, but, I was in the money 3/5 at DP.

Soon I might need to open a piggy bank for Souvenir Final Table Chips.

Met Mr. and Mrs. Chester.

Hope to see in the Weekend, I might swing by on Sunday.

GolfPro

Crazy hand when I went all in with my last 1500 in chips (I know I know you can't wait till the last chip, but, I couldn't find a better spot before).

Pocket 7's - All in for 1500 (blinds 1500/3000). Medium stack calls with A10. Flop is 789... Nice Set, turn J... **** he hit his st8. River .... 7 for QUADS.

That took me from bubble to 8th place.

Glad to hear you're doing so well at the tournaments. I'm planning on being there tonight...hopefully tomorrow and Sunday as well. GL at the tables. At this rate, I assume you're playing cash too, you may make the Freeroll?

32+ and running.

I might get the required 40 this Sunday. Yes, the entry into Freeroll was one of the reasons for accumulating the hours.

It's a good month to get your 40. The short 28 day month coupled with the weather have greatly reduced the hours of many of the regs. Usually you get 275 to qualify and about 175 to actually play. I expect this month to be down to about 225 qualifying. Actually, I have to get another 15 to get in as I have only 25 now.

While I was there I found out some things about the tournament above. As usual I'm almost right, but not quite. The date is right (March 16) and it will be a "Radio Celebrity" event, with the local radio station giving away some seats to callers. I'm not sure which station, but assume it's the same one (WYSP)that DP partnered with before in their Celebrity Event last fall. Eight Celebrity paticipants. Again, this is stuff I'm not involved in and the actual tournament schedule is going to be the bible when it comes out in the room. Apparently, DP has an issue partnering up and giving a seat to the WSOP Main event when they're located as close as they are to a Harrah's property. So, they've partnered up with the Venetian in Vegas instead. The six seats awarded for the play to that seat will instead be to the summer "Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza". That's a $5000 buy in, but instead of simply the buy in, the winner of the six seat table will get that buy in, 4 or 5 nights (can't remember) at the Venetian, spending money and air fare, which will still come out to about that "buy in" of $10,000 that would have been for the WSOP. Last year, it played on 6/17, but I think it might be July this year. It's not listed on their web site yet.

2010 Venetian $5,000 NLH Main Event $25,000 starting chips. I assume 90 minutes blinds, as that was it was last year. http://www.venetian.com/uploadedFile...08_NoLimit.pdf
I heard a rumor today that this is finally a done deal for March 16 and advertising will begin soon. It will include a Vegas trip to the deep stack at the Venetian for a winner of a six table play off and a 10,000 first prize for the actual tournament with four tables of 6 in the money. It will be a bracket play with the wild cards for some who bust out. The buy in will be 150.00

I can't wait to see this announcement. Great structure. DP is really going to change it up when it comes to Tournaments. That's fantastic. I may not get up there this time, but I got a feeling more great structured games are yet to come from this poker room.

The annoucement is out and in the room. I think i got the whole thing right which may be a first for me. We couldn't get the mixed game running tonight with a max of five on the list tonight. Hoping it goes tomorrow which i expect will be a busy day. It was busy tonight but they seemed to be a little slow starting tables and filling seats which is unusal for DP. They may have been a little short of dealers.... I guess. ah well, got very little traction in either 1/2 nl or 4/8 08 played with a half kill. Still, as always, I enjoyed myself. Still need 8 or 9 hours this month.

$150 Entry Fee- March 16, 2011

You are going to want to read this twice. It's not very hard to understand, but more complicated to write. For me, it's a "MUST PLAY"

It will be a bracket style tournament similar to the NCAA Final Four Tournament. There will be 8 celebrities scattered throughout the tournament each with a $100 Bounty on their heads..... get those guys.

Round One Bracket- Ten handed - Thirty two tables (capped at 320 Players). Their will be 2 time starts for round 1, 5PM and 7PM - 16 tables each.

Each table will play down to two players who move onto the next round.

Round Two Bracket – 6 handed – 16 Tables. The winners from round 1 will account for 4 of the 6 players for round 2. Each table will play down to two players who move onto the next round.

Wild Card Entries – Just because you were eliminated in round one doesn't mean you are out of the tournament. The names of all eliminated players will be placed in a raffle drum. Two names will be selected to join each of the 16 tables in round 2 (32 total wild cards).

Round Three Bracket

6 handed – 8 Tables. The winners from round 2 will account for 4 of the 6 players for round 3. Again there will be 2 wild cards drawn per table. (Eliminations from round 2 will be added to the raffle drum) Each table will play down to two players who move onto the next round.

Round Four Bracket

6 handed – 4 Tables. The winners from round 3 will account for 4 of the 6 players for round 4. Again there will be 2 wild cards drawn per table. (Eliminations from round 3 will be added to the raffle drum) Each table will play down to THREE players who move onto the next round.

Round Five Bracket (Money Round) (No Wild Cards)

6 handed – 4 Tables. The winners from round 3 will account all 6 players for round 5. Payout's begin with eliminations. Each table will play down to THREE players who move onto the Final Table.

First prize is guaranteed to be $10,000 + a seat in the Delaware Park Poker Classic ($1,070)

Its Not Over Yet!!

At the completion of the final table, all players who participated in the event will have their names placed in the raffle drum. Six names will be chosen. Those six will play in a single table tournament, with the winner receiving a seat in the $5000.00 2011 Main Event at the "Summer Deep Stack" at the Venetian, four nights at the hotel, air fare and spending money. Theoretically, a player can win $11,070 from the main tournament, then an additional $10,000 seat in the "Deep Stack Main Event". That’s 21,070 for a $150 Buy-In

Anthony and number 2. I'd really like it if the freeroll paid more players....like 50 with bottom payouts of $100 and working up to over $5000 instead of 10,000 first prize. But, that may have something to do with my DP tournament record. Spread the $25,000 around more. Something like:

5575- 1
3600 -2
2500 -3
1700 -4
1100 -5
800 -6
700 -7
600 -8
400 -9
350 -10

250 -10 to 15
175 -15 to 25
150 -25 to 40
100 -40 to 50

There's your 25,000 and more players back in the cash room with money in their pockets.

Just my opinion. anyone else care to chime in?

Yes, except I think for the ramdon wild card pick table of six for the Venetian package. That, I think will have to run a diffferent day. I'll have to ask how that will work. Each round should go 1 1/2 to 2 hours since it only goes down from 10 in the first round to 2. All the other rounds only play from 6 to 2.

I agree with this. Actually, I don't enjoy tournaments that much in general. I played last month's freeroll. I was in for 4 hours before I was eliminated. The other time I was in the freeroll I played for 5 hours before being eliminated with $0. The binds go up so quickly that eventually you just have to shove and get lucky. This time I doubled up twice and then failed on the next attempt. There is just so much luck involved in winning or even cashing a tournament that I don't enjoy it.

In fact, coming from Baltimore, I have to push to get to my 40 hours and because of the luck factor involved in cashing the freeroll, I've decided not to try this month. I was in one other freeroll at DP, and I've decided they just don't motivate me to get to 40 hours. If I had a better chance at cashing, then I would try to get to 40 hours some months. As it is, I'll just enjoy coming up to DP once every other week instead of every week.

On the other hand, the freeroll did get 191 people into the poker room on a Tuesday, so I guess it is working for some.

Players must be present to claim their wild card seat.

I played the 4-8 Omaha H/L with a half kill Saturday for a couple hours until the 7pm tourney. Not as live a omaha game as I wished, but it was ok. Made $100 there. I saw the noon $65 tourney get about 180 people and paid 18. They chopped it 16 ways.

171 people entered the $150 7pm tourney, and also paid 18. We ended up chopping 11 ways, mostly because it was 130am at the time and most wanted to go home. About $1600 chop value for each person, with the bottom 3 stacks giving $400 to the top 3 stacks. I got the regular chop, and I was happy with that.

I also got the flyer for the bracket tourney. Very original format, and I give DP a lot of credit for trying new things.

I put my name on the mixed game lists (4-8 Mixed, 5-10 HORSE), but I don't think either got off the ground. Shame.
