They use to have a bunch of electronic poker tables at the Casino de Montreal. The e-poker side was always empty so a couple months ago, management got rid of all of them except one or two. DeJope might be slowly converting to full on live tables gradually or after they realize players want to play with real cards, chips, and dealers.

fwiw I've spoken to the Manager (Casey) and he assured me that this was not the case. I was and am still incredulous, but he told me that he can have any class II game he wants. Class II is where you play to win other players' monies, such as in poker, bingo, horse racing, or the BS slot machines at DeJope which somehow aren't actual "slots" but are "pari-mutuel bingo machines"--they're slots, though

Class III would be where you play against the casino, so table games and regular slot machines. According to Casey, electronic has nothing to do with anything and he could have regular tables with chips, cards, etc.

But....he won't have any "real" poker there for two reasons: 1)The company that leases the poker machines purportedly told him that they would pull their machines if he introduced any real games to the room, and 2) he doesn't want the higher overhead that comes with paying and providing benefits to dealers and more floor staff.

How's the action been? Thinking of taking a ride there during mid week next week. Do the games get going at 10am when they open up or do I need to wait until later in the day?

Can't, I'll be there next Friday to try these things out. Hopefully I'll be able to spot 1 fish at the table?

It has not been closed down yet, played there a few days ago. They are in arbitration with the state as to whether or not it will be closed and even if it is, it won't be at least six months from what I understand. Personally I don't think it will be closed since it would be ridiculous to say that it is class III, but maybe thats just me hoping. Anyone who watches the game would be able to see that you are never playing against the casino and are playing against other patrons while the casino takes a percentage (10% up to $5) of each pot. This is from what I understand to be the difference between class II and class III so I'm not sure how you could prove that it is class III.

I guess Carole was practicing with her executive lying skills.

Anyone know if these are still open/running? I was hoping to head down there tonight to check it out. I miss the Green Bay bar games :/. Assuming they run a lot of 1/2 and 2/4 NL?

def still running.

1/2 NL mostly, with maybe one or two LHE games at either 2/4 or 3/6.

quick question, since I've never been to this location... Do they serve alcohol anywhere on the premises?

also, how does it do for food and the like?

Is it worth driving an hour away to play some 1/2 NL for me and 2/4 L for the wife? Will these games be going with full tables today?

Yes, the games are good and when I was there last Sunday there was a 1/2 NL game going by 1 or 2 pm, not sure about 2/4, it will go most likely but not sure what time.

Bump. Tables still there? Heard a rumor 2 weeks ago that it had been shut down. Any of you Madison poker players have a small stakes home game?

Myself and Clayraiken will prolly be up there on tuesday, we both are fans of PLO (hes a bigger fan of plo8 tho); if anyone wants to get a .50/1 PLO game going, im pretty sure both of us would play it; if not we'll both be playing 1/2 nl

This will be the first time for both of us playing there, I'm pretty sure I'll be grinding there quite a bit if I like it. Has there been any increase in action because of "Black Friday" online?

Do they have .50/1 PLO? I played Saturday and we got an insane 1/2 PLO game going. Was fun but definitely not something I could handle playing on the reg with the swings. Obv can have decent swings in NL, but saw multiple ~1k pots in the 2 hours playing, f that lol.

multiple 1k+ pots in a 1/2 PLO game sounds pretty std for what i play, are $5 straddles allowed? (if so this sounds super std to me and my exp with PLO games)

This is the advantage of electronic tables. They can spread whatever you want on demand. The casino is happy to take your money in the form of rake (10% up to $5 pulled on the quarters at $1/2NL and PLO). Yes, they get their $0.75 on the $8 pots. That's just good software design.

I would ask if the rake at $0.50/1 PLO is still capped at $5 or if the cap is lowered to $2.50 respectively. It seems to me that if rake still goes to $5, it could bleed the table quickly given smaller buy-ins than the $1/2 PLO.

Try to talk to one of the guys that works the desk. The young ladies, while very helpful and nice, are not very knowledgeable about poker, the software, or table management. Not being sexist, just giving my take based on my experiences.

$4 optional straddle at the $1/2 PLO on. Avg pot size about $115. Standard.

I'll be back in Madison soon (Late May) and want to play in this PLO game. I will post again when I get back and try to find a day(s) for it to run regularly.
