Re: Creek Entertainment Gretna (Gretna, FL)

Ive been four times now and really like the room alot. Yesterday they had a 100 buyin 10k multi that ended up with like 190 runners. After like 7 hours or so I ended up chopping it five handed. The structure got crazy shallow once we were down to the final table it made it an easy decision to go ahead and chop. Its seems like they are going to have pretty good field sizes for their tournaments which is nice. So much damn better than JCKC im stoked that this place opened up - Tally

Very nice poker room, however there are some really bad dealers. Website now has a calendar for poker events.

Do they run 1-1 NL here like it says on their website or is the lowest 1-2?

Now that slots are approved, they are planning on building a quarter horse track and resort within a few years. When they do that, it's on.

Re: Creek Entertainment Gretna (Gretna, FL)

Went there this weekend and it is a nice room. Played at Ocala on Friday then drove over there on Saturday to check it out. Their floor mangers need a little work though. When I arrived they were about to start a Tourney so I joined that no problem, and I liked the format and it was run very well. After I got knocked out I went back up front to join a cash table and I had to wait almost 10 minutes for someone to come back up front and get me signed up. I was sitting at a table up front and another guy had the same thing happen to him later on. He came over and asked our dealer if anyone was working the front as he had been waiting for quite some time. We had seat open and it had been open for quite some time.

Later our dealer showed the turn card before everyone had acted. It wasn't a big deal he just made a mistake, no one was mad. He knew what he had to do, but he said he couldn't until the floor gave over and confirmed. So he called the floor. We were just ignored, we sat there a good 10 minutes before the floor lady came over. She said she didn't hear anyone call her. It wasn't a huge thing but it was annoying, but still a much better experience than JCKC.

Re: Creek Entertainment Gretna (Gretna, FL)

I haven't been yet, but was wondering if the poker room stays pretty busy during the week or is it only filling up on the weekends? Trying to get a feel for how many tables of 1/2-2/5 NLHE cash games they have running on different days. Thanks

Monday seems to be the slowest day.

5 to 7 tables is the norm M-Th.

place is packed on F,Sat and Sun

usually 1 to 2 tables of $2/$5 M-Th

usually 3 tables of $2/$5 on Fri and sat

Re: Creek Entertainment Gretna (Gretna, FL)

I've gotten there when it opens a few times. Usually it starts off with a table or two of 1/2, then the 2/5 table starts up around 12-1pm.

They really haven't advertised much for it...I'm just glad we have a nice place to play here.

Re: Creek Entertainment Gretna (Gretna, FL)

One thing that annoys me a little bit about this place is that the cell phone rules aren't enforced at all. People are chatting on their phones sometimes during a hand. Texting and browsing are going on all the time. I hate to be the one that calls for an end to it at the table because it seems to create a super casual atmosphere, but come on.
