I have played their 5/10 yesterday, I was the only Euro at the table, and I don't even live in Europe. I think one guy said he was from Britain or something, but he had a totally Murican accent, so that can't have been anything recent.
The game was not great though, I'll give you that, when I played it went from soso to bad. But it was actually the highest game at the time, not a busy time currently apparently, so where do you think the pros would gather?

If you give back to the game socially, then you will be welcomed back lol go read Limon’s thread in NVG.

I was in a game recently where I was joking around with a very stoned dude who had been rebuying nonstop and was amazing action. Euro stacks the guy but tanks each street, which in stoned time is a lifetime. The dude who got stacked even showed his hand first and the euro doesn’t fast roll his hand, makes sure he has the best hand before he shows (non-euro was drawing to 3 outs on the flop) and the stoned guy, despite not caring about being stacked 3 other times in 30 minutes, leaves without saying anything.

How dumb do you have to be to smell the guy, see how he plays, and then still tank in that hand?? Sure, I’m sure the the Euros are much better than me, but does it really matter if they kill action?

If the euros had any soft skills at all they would talk about their red light districts ffs and how cheap the hottest working women are compared to the US, that’s what American fish want to hear.
As much as I hate and have trashed the Euros on here I will say the British and Irish poker playing euros are fun as hell for the most part. The rest are mostly torture.

It's infuriating when you the same euro wins 3-4 pots in a row and stiffs the dealer. Now the dealer is going to deal super slow and I really can't blame them.
Oddly many euros I've seen not tip the dealers do tip the food runners in line with what everyone else tips.

You're 10000 percent right about their table talk. Awful.

Exactly. If you take money out of the game and least leave the game something. Be enjoyable to play with.
I've seen Euros tank with some dirt flush in plo against big fish and still make the guy show if he says "you're good" or 2 pair and then shows the 2 pair but not the other 2 cards in plo. Infuriating.

It's crazy reading about how far Commerce game quality has fallen.

The way the games are currently I don’t blame whales and recs to play home games over any mid stakes live game in LA currently even if the rake is 3x

I was looking at some of the LAPC tourneys and just the thought of depressing, scammy Commerce is turning me off.

Which game would you all recommend? Also I can only go on Tues, Wed, or Thurs so only games on those days. I'm only able to go one night, and if the game is good enough, I'd be fine just buyin in 30 BB at a 100 game and taking a shot. This isn't anywhere near my entire roll, just want to take a true shot at higher limits while I'm there. Suggestions?
Seconding all this. No one should go to Commerce. You may as well play 500nlz on Stars. I play 500nl++ on Bodog and those games are softer than the ones at Commerce since you will play with someone who isn't a nit and the rake is lower..

The hotel is absolutely disgusting as well. Worse than a Motel 6.

The food is good at least.

He's talking about playing limit poker, and I'm pretty sure the games there are still great.

Exactly. I haven’t been there in a long time but it would shock me if the limit hold em games aren’t still very good. I often wonder why some people would complain about how awful no limit games are at a certain level but be unwilling to learn or try other forms of poker where they might have a good edge.

I've looked around bravopoker a bit and haven't seen much, do they still run 60/120? Back when I was last going to Commerce, they had multiple 40s and at least one 60 at most times. But it's been like 6+ years, I suspect it's considerably more dead today.

One of the last times I was there, we were playing 100, I tilt-chatted myself into a hu challenge with this live reg at 200/400 (and got beat badly). Another time, we played 4-handed 200/400 for like 7 hours. I got stuck like 15k immediately, re-bought, and then caught a sick heater and had some real chip porn going on (had ~100k stack at one time). Good times. I assume this isn't a thing there nowadays; it's all mixed games.

**** I miss limit hold 'em.

What chips do they use for the 60/120 LHE game? Do they have 20s?

I do this in the $200-ish tourneys I play for fun. Small pot? Sure let's play it passive and see if we can hit our hands. That's all we're doing here, right? Oh lots of money in the pot and you don't look interested? Guess I hit my hand!

I deleted a few posts that got off topic trashing euro players in general. Also, as a reminder, in this forum the leeway on personal insults is very much tighter than you might find in a forum like NVG. So please be careful about that going forward. Thanks.

I mean, thanks but I didn't mind all the insults and whatnot, I guess it just shows I struck a nerve. It's a document of our times. The essence what I was saying is just like, you better move on, the old days are gone, the players moved on, the game moved on, even if you somehow magically banned all euro players it is unlikely that you will ever sit again at a table where at least 2/3 are all clueless, at least at 5/10 and above, that's the past, not the present or the future, it happened at many other places earlier actually...

They are still all over the place. You just don't get invited to them and they aren't in the casino very often.

Pre Covid, Commerce on Saturday nights use to have upto 120ish cash tables running. Now it's closer to 70-80ish in Bravo.

I haven't set foot in Commerce since 2019, but curious what's changed over the years. (I can guess myself, but been meaning to ask this question here for awhile)

It actually started before covid... Commerce going back and forth, taking away comps and them giving them back. Putting a bunch of those crappy table games in the high stakes area. Laying off a bunch of staff, then hiring them back. Etc.

During covid, they basically told the mid-high players "go play elsewhere, we don't care... we know you will come back." They were only partially right. Some came back, some didn't.

Overall, they have just demonstrated a pattern of penny pinching and disrespecting their regular players while completely failing to give anything resembling an upscale, Vegas experience. The lengths that they go to piss off their regular customers over the past few years is actually quite impressive. Incompetence at its finest.

I forgot that in 2019 that they started charging 5 dollars if you needed an additional or replacement players card which was hilarious. I'd assume there was a small percentage of people who really abused this and rather than deal with the problem children they just penalized everyone.

hahhaha that's amazing.
i havent been there since maybe 2012 and their players card is the cheapest shittiest players card i've ever seen. pretty sure the back was just completely blank, my picture was super grainy and half of the print on the front was smeared.

Lake Elsinore does this too. So nickel and dime.

Oh BTW the issue of people jumping into open seats and not going through the podium is the worst I have seen. Floor doesn't respond right away and it's hard to find them.
