Can anyone tell me how good the action is there? I wanted to plan a trip but heard the 1/3nl and 2/5nl both had 300 max, just wondering if this was true because that sounds like a waste of time if so. Seems to me the 2/5 should at least be 500 max if not 1000.

2/5 does not have $300 max, I've seen people but in for $500 and I believe it's higher. Action is very loose and can get crazy sometimes.

Sorry for the derail, but anybody in Shreveport wanna try to get a O/8 game going? I will be in town for the next three days and would play anytime. I have only played O/8 there one time and it was 5/10

It runs every Friday and Saturday. Call on Thursday afternoon to get on the list. Game starts at 10am Friday and anywhere from 10am-2pm on Saturday, depending on how late they play on Friday. Really good game!

For a smallish room, the action is very good. I am noticing O8 going more and more in recent months. I suggest you call the room at 318-741-7901 to see when it goes most often. I am pretty sure I have seen it on Fridays and Saturdays for the last few months. It may also have some other days it goes. Sorry, don't play Omaha myself, so I don't play close attention. I do know I have seen as many as 3 tables going at one time of different forms/levels.

The $20-$40 limit holdem game is going strong on Fridays. Had two table for a while this Friday. We will start playing Saturdays after Thanksgiving if things go as planned

I believe the mix was a bunch of lowball variants. The game was mostly heads up IIRC, maybe 3-handed at some point.

The 20/40 LHE is now going on Thursday and Friday. Maybe Saturday, not sure. There was a 500/1k mixed game going today for awhile.

Heading to Dallas from New Orleans next weekend. Going to play Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, need to be in Dallas Tuesday for dinner. Can get comped room at Horseshoe Bossier City. Does 1/3 and/or 2/5 run 24/7? Is the game in New Orleans better? I could play New Orleans Sunday and Monday and drive Tuesday. But I could also arrive in Shrevport Sunday night and play until Tuesday afternoon if the action is good. Update on this game in this forum would be good. Thanks in advance.

Report from Bossier City:

Got there on Sunday night. Big monday night tourney going for seats at WSOP. Busted in tourney but cash games before and after were amazing. They had a 25/50 PLO going that my bankroll couldn't handle but looked awesome. I opted to play the 1/3 over the 2/5 because certain tourney players were at the 1/3 stacked up. Patience and the right cards proved that was a good strategy. Got the 540 I dumped into tourney back, and then some. Comped room was nice. Stopped by other place with live games (can't remember name). They were running 2 1/3s, one must move. Game was pretty good but i ran bad.

Here today, wanted to check out the 6:30p tourney for $105 but went to chat and found out it was a turbo; which I guess I'll have to settle for since it seems like there isn't anything else around here going in the way of tournaments tonight. Looked like a pretty small room so I didn't want to jump into the 1/3 against six regs or something. I dunno - just rambling now but I wonder how big the field is for these Thursday tourneys.

Recommend the room if you're in town, easy money. Averaged $190/hr over 14 hours split into 2 sessions playing $1/$3 for a total of $2600. Very spewey fish.

The spouse and I were in the area last year so we stopped to have a bite at Jack Binion's Steakhouse followed up by gaming. I planned on poker, but one look at the "room" changed my mind. I've seen better looking bingo halls.
