probably a terrible place to post this, but i am having no success in the Tucson thread. If anyone is heading up to CAZ this weekend for the tournament from Tucson or very close surroudning area and need a ride/split gas please PM me. I am trying to find someone from Tucson that i can do some car pooling with to save on gas. so tilting to drive home from CAZ after a losing session with the added notion i am out an additional 50$ in gas.

Is it less tilting to bust out and be sick of poker, ready to go home, and the guy you gave a ride to lasts 4 more hours in the tournament?

Friends don't ride with friends to poker!

i dont mind playing cash while waiting. I dont tilt from 300$ buy-ins. plus i figure swaps and what not could take place to give one of us a sweat if one does go out early.

whats the over under you think on tomorrows tournny?

220 is likely a decent line

Edit: I posted that without stepping foot inside the casino today or talking/texting with anyone there. (was up north for the day)

How did I do?

Because no one is using it?

I think it would be cool if it were used more, although I'm not sure what the forum rules say is allowed here that wouldn't be in the regular Talking Stick thread.

We can talk about what we are doing this weekend! My wife's parents are coming over for brunch before they go to the Dbacks game. This could never be spoken in the other forum cause of off topic LDO

But we want to talk about something interesting!

I would love to compare notes about other regulars in the room, especially in the 20/40 game, but I'm guessing that would still not be allowed here.

Pretty sure I would not participate in that conversation here and would frown upon it. But I would be willing to do so in person or in messages if you so choose.

Could we talk about the Mother's Day Tbone Steak dinner in the poker room? Because nothing says "Thanks Mom!" like making her sweat you eat a steak and play poker.

For what it's worth, you're free to talk about ancillary things provided that they're at least some sort of off-shoot from the poker room or casino. You can discuss concerts and events at or near the casino, nearby specials, a restaurant opening nearby, live meetings with other regulars, etc. You can talk about your non-poker casino-related events. [I won a jackpot!] You can even mention "significant" events that might be of interest to other players, provided you're not just making it your "life in Arizona" blog. [Get a tumblr account you dirty hippie. Nobody wants to read your emo poetry.]

...just keep it connected to live play at Casino Arizona / TSR

As to trading notes on other players, don't do it here. I think I've said before that you're welcome to discuss particular events, and comment on them provided player information remain relatively anonymous, but "Mr. X, you know the guy with the lisp -- he almost always folds to a three-bet" is right out.

Wow, Thomas Keller thrown under the bus during this weeks 2p2 pokercast in discussion of the UB scandal. Not straight up accused of cheated, but said he was clean but still seemed fishy. Somewhere in the 1:30:00 to 1:40:00 mark.

Interesting. I was well acquainted with both Thomas and Shawn back when they were just teenagers playing Magic the Gathering. I followed their poker careers with great interest, and have always been on the far fringes of their social circle. [We've got a lot of mutual friends, but outside of a few emails about poker chips and a few "hey dude, what's up!" at the WSOP, I haven't spoken with either of them at length in probably 5 years, and it's probably been 16 years since they played poker for quarters and dollars in my living room on a Pai Gow felt stapled to a folding table.]I can't sit and listen to this right now, but I'll try to get it playing as soon as I'm at home in front of a machine.

Both brothers always seemed willing to use the rules to their advantage, but I'd never known either of them to cheat.

The Home Games forum 2013 Home Poker Invitational is occurring here in Phoenix in a little less than two weeks:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/24...ix-az-1326085/

The event will be held about 10 minutes from WHP.

While I'm aware that most of you play significantly above Friday night's games (which will essentially be 1-2 NLHE and PLO and 3/6 Mix [with Overs for the degens]), this might be of interest to you -- especially with the opportunity to play on the internet streamed RFID table at a stake where you can have a little fun.

Attendance will be significantly higher than the numbers listed in the HP forum, which is just counting HP regulars...

[I don't advertise my home games here as it's not the place for it, but I think this qualifies as significant enough to cross-post. This sort of tangential event posting was part of the very arguments that started this forum, FWIW...]

Helpful suggestions, as always from losboy.

Also, make sure to wear your glasses so you don't misread the board.

Do they use antes in the big tourneys?

Yes. The only big weekend tourney that doesn't use antes is the end of the month tourney, which is why I refuse to play it.
