Can you still buy gift cards at the gift shop to avoid atm limits and fees?

They need to make sure they get their ten bucks.

But they make a lot more than the $10 if those same people are paying rake/time during the fight.

Anyone ever asked CAZ why they don'e use Bravo Live Poker for poker players to track how many tables are going?

Curious if there was a known reason..

I dont think they use the Bravo system, so it doesn't sync up.

That is incorrect. There actually are 2x SL Omaha Hi games. (You can see them when you swipe in). They unfortunately don't go very often.

There is a 2-3/300max bet/300 max buy in (which used to go on weekends in 2011), but I haven't seen it go in a while. There is a 3-5/500max bet /1k max buy in, which I think has only ever gone a few times.

If enough people sign up on the board, you can get it going. But it's a challenge to get people to commit to it. Usually when about 8 people sign up, the front desk does an "interest check" and 4 people say "no." Rinse/repeat.

Who feels like helping out a wayward traveler?

I'll be in town June 1-3 (Fri - Sun). I'll be looking to play all day / evening on Friday and Saturday evening. What kind of games can I expect Friday during the day? I'd prefer 8/16 to 20/40 (or the equivalent). Are those games typically running?

Also (and these are idiotic questions I warn you) - it looks like the CAZ poker room is at something called talking stick? Is that right (I know, google is my friend)? Is it worth it for me to get a players card for the weekend?

Thanks in advance.

20 holdem will run everyday. Usually starts around 9-10 if it is not still running from previous night.

The location is the Talking Stick Resort, where the hotel is. Just in case you get confused, there is a CAZ casino at both Indian Bend (where the poker room and hotel are) and at McKellips.

And both the 20 game and the 8/16 game get started sometime in mid morning. And both get multiple games going throughout the day.

I would suggest a players card. The least use you will get is being able to sign up for lists yourself on the monitors around the room. Will make it quicker if you are looking to switch from 20/40 to 8/16 and back throughout a session.

Also, every 8 hours gets you a $5 food voucher, so you should get at least one of those during your stay. Just remember to swipe out when your session is done (or every 8 hours).

Funny they changed the name to Talking Sticks but still market them both as CAZ so no wonder so many people are still confused...

Casino Arizona had two locations, one at 101 and Indian Bend and one at 101 and McKellips road for many years

The company built a NEW resort at the Indian Bend Location, and it opened on April 14 2010 as Talking Stick Resort, it has never been called Casino Arizona or changed names.

The Casino Arizona name is retained to identify the McKellips Road property.

Any Regs or Dealers that live in the WEST VALLEY?

I live on the Surprise/El Mirage border and was wondering if there were in regulars or dealers in the same area that I could ride to talking stick with 3-5 days a week and I would pay for all the gas.

I have many references and have been around the 2p2/poker community for a long time.

Please PM me if you are interested and we can work out the details.

...or, if you're just a guy who lives in Phoenix who didn't get the marketing memo, Casino Arizona is an ambiguous name that refers to one, the other, or both of those

QED: See thread title.

The thread title is 100% my fault and it is what I call the casino. I never refer to it as TSR.

The whole CA/TSR thing is pretty much the fault of the tribe and their disjointed bad advertising...

They're trying fairly hard now, if you read billboards.

Doesn't Gila River have the same issue? Wild Horse Pass/Vee Quiva/Lone Butte

Gila River, to me, is the one at the bottom of I-10. The rest are, of course, Gila River Casinos (collective), but WHP is Gila River in my book.

Vee Quiva is Vee Quiva, and Lone Butte is Lone Butte.
