Yes. For example, there were four tables of 20/40 LIMIT Omaha with a long waiting list. Players eliminated from the $100+$20 turbo NLHE tournaments go on top of the list for the Limit cash games, so some players play the turbos for this reason.

At least 18 satellites have already been run for the next $128,000 semi-final on Wednesday, so it will probably sell out as usual by this weekend.

Wow, the dealers are extra bad this year. Painfully slow and I have seen at least 4 instances of the dealer trying to push the pot to the wrong player. I have had a few dealers that didn't know the rake of the table they were at and some didn't know that no flop = no rake.

They have NLH, except its really more of a spread limit game. The most that can be bet on any street is $100. So at 2/5 NL, on a flop someone bets 90 and the other player wants to raise, then can only raise 10 more. If the other player bets 100, then they can only call.

They were also running 20/40 Omaha, 50/100 LH and 100/200 LH.

The rake has improved slightly. $7 max at lower limit games and 20/40 was $9 Max.

Was it only 2/5 NL or also 1/2 NL? 1/2 plays ok with a $100 cap 2/5 lol no.

Min & Max buy in for 2/5?

Would also love any comments from anyone who has site in the Omaha hi game

So the rake is standard bad now not "specially bad". Maybe the handle was down across the limits, which would be a first for the casino.

By the way I looked up the entrance fees for the EX and they have gone up again so if anybody is on the fence about going, it's best to get your free pass now.

I played in the Omaha hi game a bit. It's soft, but I didn't see anything outrageously crazy for the brief time that I was there compared to what I hear about Port Perry. I did witness a 2.5K pot at Omaha Hi when I was sitting nearby to the game. The pot was so big that a lot of other people got up to see what was happening.

Do they allow call ins? I want to call first and find out if a spread limit game is running before i even make the drive over

I'm thinking of going over this weekend. Any comments on how the general level of play is this year? Other analysis?

Any good stories?

^ Can't help with a game play update b/c I haven't been yet but if you want a story here goes:

Last year a friend and I started drinking at noon, went to a TFC match, drank some more at the match and then ended up at the poker room.

Kept drinking there until we got cut off! For real, I don't think I've been cut off since I was 19. Anyway then we tried walking over to table games just to get served from different waitresses but the word was out among all the staff and we got the banhammer from drinks ..... so a guy at our poker tableoffered to buy us beer but only if we paid for his, cheap ****. Spent the rest of the night drinking and hiding beers under our chairs.

Don't think I've ever been so annihilated at a poker table in my life.

Then I walked the wrong way down King st and took forever to get home

The end

Played last night they had 1/2 NL and 2/5 NL ... as mentioned max bet is $100 per some archaic provincial law.

limit HE from 5/10 up to 50/100.

Also 7 tables of 20/40 Omaha Hi ..... i played that for a bit, played as a typical loose casino poker table. Was annoying that half the table wanted to have the deck 'washed' everytime they lost a pot.

1 waitress for the entire room, no charging stations that I noticed. ****ty $9 cans of beer ..... so the usual CNE experience

You get a free $25 parking pass + a free 18 day CNE pass just for playing 3 hours of poker. Be sure to have the VIP employees take your name right as you sit down

How many tables does it have now? Still around 20 like in the past? Is it worth while going around 4-5pm on a weekday or will it be impossible to get a table like in the past?

I got there at 6pm on Friday and was seated right away. By 8pm though, the list was 2 hours deep.

Apparently players that play in the $100 tournament are automatically put at the top of the list after they bust out....could be worth trying to win a Semi-Final seat just to avoid the huge lists....

Thanks for the tip! I got my pass after playing this weekend.

Arrived about 7pm on Sunday. They had 2 20/40 hold'em tables and 6 20/40 Omaha high tables. I sat right down and played in a very loose passive 10/20 hold'em. The list for 20/40 hold'em moved very quickly and I got a seat in under half an hour despite being 6 down. I was about 8 down on Omaha, but ended up waiting another hour and a half to get a seat. As someone else mentioned, people in the tournament were promoted to the top of the list which made the list move very slowly. They also seemed to wait until there were 3 seats open and would call 3 players at a time. By the time I was near the top, there were a good 20 names on the list. I asked another player if they would open a new table, but he said 6 Omahas is the max. There was also a decent list for 50/100 hold'em, but the floor seemed skeptical to even call it down.

The hold'em game was very good. I recognized a few players from Port Perry, Brantford and WSOP. Throughout the night, I would say I recognized about 30% of the players, but this was only my second time playing the CNE and I've played Port Perry and Brantford sporadically over the past couple of years.

The Omaha game was good. I wouldn't say I was on a great table, more loose, passive preflop with people who were willing to drop out after the flop once their hand was defined. I prefer a game with more pot odds post flop, but still very beatable throughout the night. There were definitely looser tables and I did have the opportunity to table change but didn't take it. By the time I asked again, the floor supervising the Omaha games was inept and didn't control players moving from table to table. The next floor controlled the movement, but was strict in enforcing the rule about no table changes with no list, so I got stuck.

Throughout the night, two of the tables broke up around the 3-4am timeframe, which allowed a nice influx of new players. I stayed until 5:30am and there were still 4 tables of 20/40 Omaha and 1 of 20/40 going strong.

Overall the experience was positive, although some of the dealers are crazy slow. Combine that with lack of autoshufflers and players who are more interested in walking around chatting but insist on being dealt in and the game screeched to asnails pace for some downs. I witnessed 3 showdowns where the dealer misread the hands at showdown and needed to be corrected, including one that almost got mucked on the 20/40 hold'em. So stay vigilant of dealer errors. I was pleasantly surprised that most dealers were on the ball about moving to $5 rake when we were 5 or fewer handed.

I'm definitely gonna try to make the trip back here for Labor Day. I recall from last year that the action was superb the Sunday before the holiday.

It will show up on their website eventually (maybe). Just received my VIP letter in the mail. No indication about anything, apart from tourney returning this year.

Normally I only find out by going down there once it opens. Only a short wait now...

They are running 1/2 NL, 2/5 NL Betting capped at $100 on any street
5/10, 10/20, 20/40 Limit and 10/20 Omaha with a full kill and 20/40 Omaha with a half kill.

The rake is only $8 this year at the 1/2 NL and $9 at 20/40 Omaha. So it's actually reasonable IMO. The players are bad to terrible in most instances with a few good players. I was playing Omaha and we had a few pots capped 7 or 8 ways preflop.
