Planning a trip soon. Anyone know what games and limits they spread? Any good tournaments? Best days to go? Thanks.

I don't play there, however you may want to do a search on Casino Windsor since they've recently changed the name

It's Caesars Windsor now I do believe. Or just Caesars, in Windsor.

It is ceasers...

They have a:
NL
1-2 200max... This game runs day and night

2-5 500max... Runs pretty much every day. Does have times when there is no game.

5-10 no cap... Only runs on weekends if they have enough players

Limit
3-6... runs day and night

Ohio. I'm only 19 thought so it's Canada or Turningstone, and this is a lot closer than TS.

The Caesars Windsor website says this:

Quote:
The Poker Room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is located on the second floor. There are 14 tables offering Texas Hold'em, Omaha and Seven Card Stud. Table limits vary, starting from $3 to $6 (CAD) up to unlimited amounts. This room offers a cashier cage and cocktail service.
What does starting from 3 to 6 mean? 1/3 and 3/6? Is that what it means? I'm going next month after I go see the Wings play the Habs, so your help with the terminology is much appreciated!

i believe they are saying their lowest limit game is 3/6. they have 1/2 NL there so i imagine that line is in reference to their limit games

I went to Caesar's Windsor in the beginning of this month. I was there from a Monday to a Wednesday. There was 1/2 NL everyday, I did see 2/5 NL at least 2 of the 3 days. There was also a 1/2 Pot Limit Omaha, which ran at least for a few hours every day I was there, but one of the seeming regulars said it wasn't common to have that game run every day.

Good luck!

caesars windsor is a great poker room. daily 1/2 nl game but the 2/5 game is only running once and a while. usually a bunch of regs in it who are very solid. 1/2 game is pretty soft though. They also have a sat for WSOP ME once a month for $500 i believe.

What is the competition like on week nights? I'm going to play on a Wednesday and Thursday night.

myself and 2 others made the trip there last Friday night. every table (i think like 14) was going when we got there at about 11:30, and all but one was still going until about 4. there were 2 2/5 games, a sit and go, and about 11 1/2 games. we played about 3.5 hours, i ran probably about 6/5 for the session, i limped only once with 22 and made a set and a guy stacked off with top 2. lol donkaments. there was a megafish at my table, like literally calling 3bets preflop with any two cards and stuff. he donked off like 500 and then hit running straights and stuff to get up to about 450. [ ] games are dead. i think i got bluffed by an old potsmoking hippie guy when i telegraphed my AK and whiffed a flush draw and broadway draw on the turn, i wanted to throw up.

Anyone in the Canada/MI area that frequents playing here? Will be going there soon and wondering what the players are like, any regs, soft or not, etc. I hear that there is only 2/4 CD games ?

I don't live near there, but play there for several days once or twice a year. It's a very nice room, well managed, competent dealers, and lots and lots of solid, regular players. The only game you can count on being spread is $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em. On weekend evenings they may get a $2/$5 No Limit game going. I've only seen an Omaha game once and never a Limit game of Hold'em. On a weekend, you might find a fish or two, but otherwise the regulars are very solid players. I've also noticed, compared to my home casino, players have no qualms about shoving all-in, as if it were a tournament rather than a cash game. But, if you're a solid, tight player you should do OK.

Might I ask what time of the year you go/went? And do they play with Canadian currency or USD?

The wife and I usually go around the first of the year and I occasionally go for a day in mid to late summer. Since it's in Ontario, they play with Canadian currency. However, the strippers at Cheetah's down the street accept USD's a tips! Be sure to check the exchange rate at the dollar changing machines scattered throughout the casino versus the exchange rate in the poker room. Last month, the poker room's rate was less than at the bill changing machines...don't ask me why, because I don't know!

i used to go to caesars windsor a ton when i was <21. i've been back once since, about a month ago, and the dealer quality is awful and games were not at all juicy. i'd absolutely recommend to stay in detroit (specifically motor city) if you are able to play in 21+ casinos.

Windsor is FAR superior to the Detroit casinos! The players are your standard 1/2 fish who like to limp / call and pay off value bets. Standard raise sizes for those games are $15-$20 pre.

Games are played in $CAN and the exchange rate for US -> CAN is normally 1:1. CAN -> US is normally around 1CAN : .96USD.

The dealers are top notch, and the floor is very helpful as well.

Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions on the place.

I do agree with you that the dealer quality isnt all that great... Final table of the $60 rebuy last night, blinds at 800/1600. Guy raises to 4700 (you already can tell its an easy room) And the btn announces a raise. He announces raise and puts out 6000 (again, very obvious as to why I won this tournament). Well as we know he has to min raise it... so the dealer makes him put out 9400 (4700x2). I pipe up and say "Excuse me sir, the min raise would be 7800, since it was only a 3100 raise." The guys at the table tell me I'm an idiot and that I need to keep my mouth shut about a hand I am not in. Actually, that's true in a cash game, not a tournament. I can say whatever I want about something incorrectly performed in a tournament. So I calmly called the floor over and explained the situation and he agreed with me... There had already been action after that so there wasnt anything they could do but the dealers are definitely not the greatest.

However, the cash games were prettyyyyy easy. Would have been even easier if I wasn't plastered every night.

Also, I was at Leopard's both night down the street... Way better than Cheetah's haha

Oh also juicy 2/5 games as well.

I play in this room semi-regularly. Cash games are typical 1/2NL and 2/5NL with some maniacs. The regs aren't good...there are a couple of solid players to avoid. I also feel like the regs get away with quite a bit. Cash games are LOL soft on Friday and Saturday nights when the drunks are playing.

Overall I like the atmosphere. I agree with the assessment of the dealers. Average quality is pretty meh but there are 3 or 4 STELLAR dealers.

Played in the $60 daily last night. This tourney quite regularly gets 40 runners and the regs will rebuy 3 or 4 times in the first 2 levels making for a decent prize pool. Play is pretty soft and a few of the regs soft play each other quite a bit. Like I said, they get away with quite a bit.

If any 2p2ers are coming to Windsor and want to meet up for a couple of beers (and find out what the best bars are in Windsor, and there are a few!) let me know. I'm more than willing to share some of the secrets of Windsor.

Alledgedly 2/5 runs every day lately. They also play omaha and round by round some evenings. Games are good, rake is modest ($6 on the 2/5 + BBJ), waitresses outfits really don't suit the middle aged ladies wearing them. Its pretty good as far as Ontario is concerned.

lol no

there are very few "solid regs"

most of the regs are either losing or breakeven.... most of them play limp-call poker

the 1/2 games are soft..... the 2/5 games are usually pretty soft

u can beat the 1/2 games and literally never bluff except for the odd coninuation bet on the hands where u only get 1 caller pre

occasionally they get a 5/10 no cap buy in on friday/saturday nights that centres around a few rich fish

in the tournies their bet sizing is awful and they many regs will still open limp at 200/400/50 with a 4k stack
