I went here last night. It was really empty, but the $2 virtual blackjack (with surrender) was worth the trip for me, so much fun. Ended up joining a $.25/$.50 NL game, which was REALLY loose, but fun. They had a tournament, but the buy-in was something like $150 which seemed ridiculous for the crowd they had there. I would have considered joining the tournament if it was a $20-$40 buy-in. All in all, it's a cool place, and will be better if they can get more people to show up.

Will Burge from ESPN Radio has played out there quite a bit. We usually put a bounty on him. Once Hammer comes out to play, will prob do a super sized bounty on him! evidently he;s the guys you all love to hate in Cleveland.

Hey guys. thanks so much for checking out the room and posting a TR. Being a Charity Room (i mean one that does it on the up and up), they have limited budget for traditional advertising. Word of mouth is bringing in most of the new players. any help there much appreciated.

Business is picking up each week. 1/2NL and .25/.50 PLO is running everyday now. $4 rake (there was also a pretty crazy 2/5 PLO heads up game there last weekend from what I heard)

Nightly 7PM tournaments are growing each week as well.

Word is getting out and they are starting some very smart, lower cost marketing plans geared toward attracting newer, recreational players. Remember that 18+ can play here as well.

Thanks again. We appreciate your business.

I played here tonight and found the protables enjoyable. No mistakes, talkative dealers or issues with the betting. Double the number of hands per hour. Tournament had 3 tables and over 1000 prize pool, not bad for a 10.00 rebuy.

We had a fun .25/.50 PLO game that played like a 1/2. Locals should check this place out.

+1 on the .25 /. 50 PLO game. I've played in that game about 5 times. My PLO game is getting better and didnt have to bet the house to learn.

also Borgata $1,000,000 guarantee mega sattelite this Saturday. 1 in 12 win a main event seat.

How has the crowds been for the poker? The last couple times I went there were only two short-handed NLHE tables going, so I'm hoping the crowds have increased.

Kris

thanks for asking. Games are getting better each week as more people hear about this option for poker in Cleveland. More formal advertising on TV and Print, and Radio is starting next week.

Most of the 7PM nightly tournaments are now averaging 35-50 players per night. see website for details. everything from $10 rebuy to $125 freezouts.

$1/$2NL, .25/.50 PLO and our NoRiskNoLimit micro stakes runs just about everyday.

An Omaha Eight or Better game kicked off a few nights ago. split pot games are pretty sweet on the PokerPro tables

Several guys are also bringing their private home games in and Buckeye sets them up on a private table and they can play whatever game /limit they want. they like it cause nobody is left to clean up the mess at their homes and they dont have to worry about beer and food either.

Give your name and number to poker room staff when you are there next time. They have a list and are calling people when a strong game they like gets going on the night they want to play.

Are the private home games utilizing the pokerpro software?

Does 2-5 ever run and if so what is the cap?

Also, anyone interested in playing 1-2 or 2-5 PLO here over the weekend? I am just here for the weekend but would love to get a bigger nl or PLO off.

Yes, the home games that are running on private tables do run on PokerPro. They can set up the table to run any game / limit you want. Usually they'll give the games a rake free night just to check it out. Just talk to any of the staff there.

a 2/5 game has not kicked off yet at Buckeye. There have been some occasional 2/5 Heads-Up games between indiduals who only wanted to play heads up.

So I checked the place out again this weekend and was pretty happy overall with the improvements

Positives:
- Increased traffic (4 tourney tables and 3 cash games when I was there)
- Game Variety (Tournament / PLO / PLO8 / NLHE all running on Friday)
- "Floors" were extremely helpful (chop accomnmodation / playing through breaks / offering to pick up food)
- PLO(8) games are extremely soft

Negatives:
- Tournaments don't start on time
- Player in the tournament was given a seat change after requesting one so he could see the TV (this should never happen in a tournament as it should be a random draw, he also avoided 1 round of blinds)

Thanks for playing in the room and your candid comments.

No excuses for late starts on 7PM tournament which was the case. That was wrong and has been addressed. Going forward the 7PM tournaments will start at 7PM with late reg typically available for first hour.

The seat change during the tourny was also a big mistake. We apologize for that and that has also been addressed.

Thanks again for taking time to post a TR.

Actually some guys at my table at Horseshoe the other night were talking about how good the tournaments are at buckeye. I live in the west side burbs so I haven't made it out there yet but they seem to be doing ok.

We had two nights of PLO (.25/.50) where the average pot size varied between 53.00 and 73.00 and each game ran until 4:00 a.m.

Our PLO/8 (.25/.50) the other day had an average pot size of 153.00 at one point.

MUCH bigger action compared to the 1/2 games at the casino.

the Friday Night 7PM $100 Bounty had 38 players. They chopped 4-way for $580.

1/2NL, .25/.50PLO, .25/.50 08, and NoRiskNoLimit (micro stakes NL $10min/$25 max buyin) cash games ran all night and deep into the morning. PLO game and NoRiskNoLimit ran until 5 or 6AM. the others till around 3AM I think.

Lots of action on the Omaha games with many many pots over $250.

I think it's worth it to mention:

1 - Max buy-in is $400 on the 0.25/0.50 PLO and PLO8 games
2 - There is a straddle the majority of the time so it's really a 0.25/0.50/1 game which plays quite nicely

Yes ! forgot to mention that pretty important part of the Omaha games at Buckeye.

Do you like the large max buyin, lower limit blinds concept for Omaha, or just the fact there are lots of straddles?

I went by this place during the day today. Though it was dead with no games going, being the middle of a weekday in suburbia, I was very impressed with everything I saw. The staff is very courteous and gives a thorough walkthrough on how the all electronic tables work.

It's in a shopping center with plenty of free parking right at the front door. Free food, cheap drinks. Promotions all the time.

Anybody local should seriously consider giving this place their action. The staff really knows its stuff, and it's a great alternative to the expensive rake at Horseshoe - 10%, $4 max rake and by playing in their cash games, you can earn freerolls.

I'm going to head back over tomorrow night to see what it's like when it's much busier. There's no shortage of tables.

Action continues to build at Buckeye.

Tonights 7PM $50 Deepstack had 66 Players. 1st will pay just under $800.

As of a few minutes ago, they had two 1/2 NL games, .25/.50 PLO game, and a table of micro stakes NL all full handed with small waiting lists.

Those games have been running deep into early morning.

Free dinner spread almost every night around 6PM. I had the Chinese food they spread for dinner their Friday night. Dont know name of restaurant that catered in that night, but it was pretty good.

$4 max Rake on all games. $2 Beer. 40+ hands per hour.

Free parking right at the front door.

I was here this weekend playing in the $50 NLHE tournament it was a good crowd and a good time. One thing that concerned me was, I overheard someone say, that when they first opened a blackjack player won something like $1,000 or $2,000 playing the electronic blackjack and after that they "tightened up" the blackjack so it's harder to win. If that's true (not that I'm expecting they would ever say it is), then I would avoid the blackjack. Just the fact that they even have control over the cards is scary. It's not like there is any regulation there, like a regular casino, and they definitely have an incentive for less payouts with BJ, as opposed to the poker. I did play some BJ before and noticed the dealer hitting an inordinate amount of blackjacks.
