I also miss Mabel. And how easy it was to get 3 nights a week comped in hotel. Just double up with a poker pal who gets same comp and basically live for free year round!

A few years ago I made it a priority to try and get comped rooms at borg and other mgm properties. I went the VP route and grinded 9/6 JoB. Eventually hit a royal and took that money to the miralto where I did some higher denom spins on stuff like top dollar, pinball. Went through a decent amount, but nothing insane.

Ever since then, I basically get free rooms whenever. Vegas offers 4 days + rc & freeplay which I've only used once. But offers still remain. I don't use the free rooms often, but they come in handy. And ive never made gold, always been pearl.

If you want free rooms, take 1k to miralto and play some $10 - $50 spins. Table game play will not do ****. They only cater to slot zombies now.

You pretty much are gonna lose it. Your hoping you can play through it a couple times before you lose it. But its the only way to get comps at borg.

I have noticed that ever since I have added a handful of hours of Degen slot play ($1-2 spins) on my trips, my comps have gone up considerably. Goal is to minimize loses here, wishful thinking...

I know people that play poker exclusively at 1/3NL and 2/5NL and don't get comped rooms. Before MGM take over they would have almost everyday comped except holidays and select weekends.

Have any of you tried the baccarat hedge to get comps? 2 people bet the opposite to rack up play. You'll lose a little on commissions but if the average bet is $100+ you could get some good comps.

Wouldn't be worth it - even if you played an hour at $100 that is around 40 hands and would be worth about $20-$30 in comps for both of you, but you paid around $100 in commissions.

Best strategy i've seen, is go when it's busy and place a bet and just sit out a few hands when pit boss isn't looking. So if you and a friend want to try that, i'd just make your average bet $200-$500 and not play every round. You get comps based on average bet and how long you're at the table. It would only work if the table was busy, or if you tip really well so the pitboss likes you.

You could also try craps - doing pass line, and don't pass line with another player at the video craps table, and see what kind of comps you get. They might of fixed it, but a long time ago people were doing this to get really high status. You only lose money if 6 6 rolls out.

I got diamond at Total rewards by playing 9/6 jacks or better at $25 a spin. At the time it was $20 in a tier point. You need 5000 tier credits in one day to get diamond. So that is $100k in at .9954% payback which means it costs you around $460 to get diamond on average. If you go to casinos a lot it's worth it. Be aware that if you do not hit a royal flush, it may cost you a lot more than $460 - or you may make money getting diamond, but the EV is -$460. Also be aware this takes a long time as it's 4000 spins in one day. You can try and find a $125 spin which they may have and that will only be 800 spins which shouldn't take too long.

Not sure about Borgata, but they have a better game at the B bar called super times pay but not sure what kind of comps they will give you on that. I played it for a while and got gold status which did nothing for me. I personally found it not worth it getting a better tier status unless you spend a lot of time at the hotel, which I just don't really care about any more.

I honestly don't think table game play is a good route. You HAVE TO get pitbosses attention to get any kind of credits. And put in a serious amount of volume.

Play the electronic baccarat. No commission, just have to avoid banker winning with a total of 6

Idk about borgata but at Caesars properties, they don't give tier credits.

Did Borgata reopen that area next to Bread & Butter? I hope they didn't remove those video poker machines.

Your tier status doesn't matter for mgm comps. They just go by theo.

I only play poker Friday/Saturday night and throw 100 every weekend in the e bac machines. I play 10-15 hand, I’m already pearl and halfway to gold, I get rooms 7 nights a week now at borgata and I have a trip planned for Vegas in July which was completely comped , so something must be working

Are you giving them your players card and getting logged in to Bravo when you play poker?

Everyone always says that doing this ruins your chances of ever getting comped rooms!

If simply dropping 100 or so on e-bac is getting you free rooms then maybe you have found a good loophole!

You're not playing any other table games or slots??

Yes, I always give them my players card when I play, and I only play 1/3 with the occasional 2/5.

I don’t play slots unless I have some free play offer in my account, which is rare. And I only dabble in the pits if I go on a trip with friends, he which is just as rare as the slots.

Not saying I’m some genius gambler, but I rarely lose at bac, I don’t play big, I don’t play every hand. Not saying that I’ve never dropped the 100 I put in the machine, but I can say with 100% honesty that I’m definitely ahead of the game.

What is your average bet size when you do play the E bac machines?

Seems like a pretty good gamble to get comped rooms...

If anyone was eagerly/anxiously waiting, poker tier credits updated last night/this morning for me. Possible they’ve gotten on a monthly schedule since last month was 3/10, more likely it’s just a random coincidence.

I’ve now been blessed with Pearl status which has granted me free parking, comp days at 4 Vegas hotels, and still $400+ nightly rates for Saturdays at the borgata lol
