re: Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa (Atlantic City, NJ) -- FAQ added 2013.04.04

Would Borgata ever spread a 1/3 NL if someone requests it?

Doubt it

1-2 is $60-$300
2-5 is $100-$500

What could the 1-3 buy-in possibly be?

I'm trying to budget for a couple of the smaller tournaments. If they have the schedules up in the poker room already I'll just grab one next week when I get a chance to play.
The schedule will be released Monday afternoon (7/16/12).

Btw, does the Borgata consider a straddle to be a raise over the BB, or essentially a new BB? I've always seen the latter in RROP and the like, but I've also played at places that treat it as a raise. E.g. in $2-5NL with a $10 straddle, is the minimum raise to $15 ($10-5), or $20 (2x$10)?
Basically our straddle is double the big blind. To answer you question above

$2-$5 NL the straddle is $10 and the min raise would be $15.

Why make things more complicated than it has to be?

$479 is the poker rate, for you. It's a specific, player based rate.

Book in advance, when you build a little bit of 10/20 play, you could go ask one of the hosts, in advance if you want a saturday.

Have you even looked at your offers? After 23 hours of 1-2, you basically have two free nights a week for the next 12 weeks. EXCEPT for this Satuday, you have $79 and $99 Fridays and $199 to $209 saturdays. These rates will change as the hotel fills up. This is the only reason that your rate is high this weekend.

Hi Stan,

I'll be coming in early next Saturday for the 100k guarantee. I just signed up for myborgata rewards online, and suppose I will need to pick up a card before registering for the tourney. Is there a customer service desk near tournament registration where I can easily pick up a new card? Thanks.

Facing the poker room, go to the desk on the right, and ask to get a card there.

How's the play in the 10-20 O/8 game? I'm an average player and 10/20 would be the highest I've played. But, I'm going to be in AC for a few days and would like to play some O/8.
