As a cash game player I much prefer bonus comp dollars over freeroll entries. In fact I think it is a great promotion and really take it into account when choosing where I'm going to play. Do other cash players agree or do you prefer the possibility of the big score available from the freerolls?
Thanks for your comments. We appreciate feedback from the players.

Re: Borgata Poker Thread

love the borg. great weekend again :-). love the WC, pool, etc.

minor things:

1. is the 50horse game new? i played maybe 5hrs of it and it was painfully slow. the players ran the game half the time and half of that time they were wrong. i didn't have the energy nor did i want to be pegged as an ass so i sat there and said nothing and waited. but i play 50horse mostly for h, r, and s. i play pretty tight/abc in o and e so it's especially painful to have the games go super slow when it's e or o. basically my actionable complaints are:
a) are the same dealers that deal 3/6 7way the ones that deal in the 50 rotation? if not, could there be a rotation that has them do it? i would think the best dealers are prob the ones that deal the big game but it would be nice to see a super competent dealer accurately run the game so that it doesn't take between 1-1.5 hours to get through a 40 hand rotation. i know how hard it must be to deal horse but of the ~7ish dealers i saw only 1 was solid.
b) i dont know what this was about but there was a player marking cards (not on purpose i'd imagine as they were the 9h, Tc, and 4s lol) and the dealer gave the deck to the floor and the floor came back with the deck and it was the same deck. literally the 9h had precisely the same mark on it. then it went back again, took another 15 minutes to come back all the while we were playing a 5 game rotation w/ 1 deck. it took forever to get through that rotation.

aside from those issues it was another A+ trip and even my gf loved all of it and she's not a 'poker lifestyle' loving type girl

Re: Borgata Poker Thread

Can anyone point me towards and explanation of the new comp system and perhaps some info on how much you need to accrue free room offers and whatnot? I went back like 50 pages or so and couldn't find much info, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

1. The "smaller" mixed games have only been going more regularly for the past few months. Looking at the game reports, it seems like those games pop up somewhat randomly, and it's probably a mix of high limit people playing down, and other people that like mixed games. I played a 15/30 mixed game a couple of months ago and some people that were apparently regulars in the big OE game came and played. But as the game goes more often, hopefully it will run smoother.

a) I'm pretty sure that every dealer is in rotation for every game. When Razz was starting to be spread, there were a few dealers that were a bit slow at first, but they got the hang of it pretty quickly. It's possible that the players are assuming that the dealers aren't familiar with the game, and are slowing the game down that way. Hopefully that will decrease with time.

Correction: Heineken

***

My impression of the pink chip horse was that the dealers have done a great job from the go. The game has been slowed down by players drinking beer and having fun, but that is not something to complain about in my book. Another round of 'free' heinikens to the table please.

Actually, I was going to say 1/2 NL...

It's probably been a couple of years since I've been there but I do remember waiting quite a bit on Saturdays. I didn't know if that was still the case.

ty for the response.

can you confirm though that all dealers rotate all tables? that seems horrendously inefficient and i'd think the big game players would complain and get their way. if they had some of the dealers we had i'm SURE it would have been way louder and we were 1 table away so i'd have heard it. ESPECIALLY w/ superdave in the game. he gets upset at fw 40/80 stud dealers who are reasonably good...i can't imagine what he'd do/say to 7way dealers at 300/600 lol!!!
