I believe that's always been the case, though it used to be 10 nights some time ago.

It took 5 days but my MLife tier credits increased by 963 points... so that's progress

What stakes were you playing - and can you tell how many points/tier credits you made per hour.

Does anyone know what the tier credits earned for 1/2 and 2/5.

Thanks

I asked about 1/2 and was told it's 112.5 tier credits an hour.

I played 23 minutes of 5-10 NL and a little over 5 hours of 2-5 PLO.

Both are time games (as opposed to rake) and I averaged 175 points an hour.

Hope this helps!

I wish the MLife MasterCard had a free room offer like the Total Rewards Visa. I'd sign up in ten seconds.

I've heard that comps earned from poker at Borgata are not able to be used at other M Life resorts. Is this true?

Also, are the comps earned from poker put directly on your card, so they can be used easily? At other M Life rooms, like Aria in Vegas, you have to go up to the poker desk and ask for comps before using them.

Thanks.

Express Comps are supposed to work just like Comp Dollars always have: to use them, hand over your card and show your ID. Other properties with other redemption methods probably still have those.

I haven't seen anything that says Borgata-earned or poker-earned Express Comps aren't the same as all others. I can't imagine they'd want to deal with the accounting headache of that. They'd give us Points or something instead.

Or you can ask any borgata dealer about the memo they received the other day about fake purple chips.

I've had the card for a few months now; I applied for one in anticipation of Borgata's changeover as well as a Vegas trip I'm taking in a few months. The 10K point sign-up bonus equates to $100 in Express comps which can be applied to a room if you want.

What I like most about it is ensuring Pearl status as long as I have the card, which gives you unlimited free parking and some other small perks. If you're going to Vegas, the free parking is nice since MGM owns so much of the strip.

Bottom line--it's not a great card, it's not a horrible card, but there's no annual fee so what the hell.

Yeah if you spend $1,000 in three months. If I had a large bill like my mortgage I am paying anyway that I could put on it that would be easy but I can't pay my mortgage with a credit card so that won't work.

I'm a $1/2 player.

Earn Express Comps by playing slots, tables, poker and racebook at Borgata. Express Comps earned at Borgata can be used at any M life Rewards Destination nationwide.

So says the MBR site if you point at your balance.

What happens in these scenarios? Is the player who won a $500 chip in a pot just SOL?

I would have thought so, but wouldn't that make this story shorter?

Saturday night, a scene developed at the cage. Guy getting louder and louder, "Just give me my money," pounding on the window (or the counter, but from the sound I'm guessing window). It goes on, the line for the cage grows around the corner, security's standing by but not obviously doing anything, games all over the front and middle of the room are struggling to continue as the uproar grows.

The guy next to me went to get the story: he came to cash out a $5K chip, got asked for ID and where he got it. He doesn't know, some blackjack table out there, and what do they need his ID for, it's under $10K. And on and on. Eventually they got him away from the window with three security guys (and the woman who was with him, who was not at all pleased with the scene) while they check the cameras to figure it out. Shockingly, his story checked out and he got paid.

Apparently they're watching out on gray chips because a player got some stolen in a bathroom recently (details of that not provided). And they normally watch out for them anyway.

But if gray chips have RFIDs, wouldn't they know right off where his chip came from? Or is the poker cage not equipped for that, and once he went all squirrely about it they really had no choice but to hold it?

I was there too, I heard he wanted to cash out $40k worth of chips. A guy on my table was at the craps table with the old dude and he said the old guy was betting orange chips and had a whole stack of them.

Wow, but that isn't about if the chip is real, what I was getting to is someone can make a physical copy of the chips, but unless they take a few chips home and take them apart or figure out what frequency it's on and what it maybe transmitting or if it replies to a signal.

Not likely to happen, that would be an inside job and the people who try would be caught. Best anyone can do is make a good physical copy and pass them off to someone else as change or for cash or sneak one or two in a high limit game. Let the dealers take the chips.

Maybe the floor should have RFID readers and they should scan new chips from a new player and randomly.

I mean we go there because they are supposed to looking out for the players.

I did some research and apparently someone came up with a whole home poker set, borgata chips styled. The forum thread on it seems to have been deleted but here's what they look like, with oversized chips and all.

Don't think the original creators had any bad intensions in mind but obviously somebody has been taking advantage of the similarities.

Edit: here's a closeup, everyone be careful!

Edit2: there's actually a 2p2 thread on this chipset, looks really cool imo

Nice set!

I wonder if two stick together like the real Borgata chips.
