Anyone ever had a radical change in their comps before? I play a minimum of 40 hours a month, usually two 10 hour days a week on the weeks I play. Had 3 weekends booked in November, then booked another weekend first week of December. Now I look at my rewards offers this morning and I have no other comps the rest of the year, even weekdays have costs.

You probably reached the max days booked at a time. It'll let you book up to 10 (?) days comped, then it cuts you off until one passes (or you cancel one).

Examples are back in the thread somewhere, though I couldn't tell you where.

On average, how much do you think it would cost a degen like myself to live at this hotel for a month, play poker everyday and apply all comps/dollars towards rooms?

Seriously.

Depends on the level of luxury you're expecting.

If you want a hotel room the entire month, you're probably paying a very high price on the weekends and it will be an expensive month.

If you're only taking the comped rooms and sleeping in your car in the parking garage eating cans of cold Chef Boyardee with a bottle filled from the water fountain on non-comped days, you could pull it off almost for free

Find 2 other people who want to do it, one of you get to a level to get Friday/Saturday comped then comp every Friday/Saturday and book Sunday for $59, one comps every Monday/Tuesday, one comps every Wednesday/Thursday. Then your paying $59 X 4 Sunday's / 3 people, = $80 + $5/night X 30 nights / 3 people = $130 for the month

By yourself it will be considerably more because the way the comp room booking works. If you comp Friday/Saturday and tell the system you want to stay for 10 days, it will auto comp Monday/Tuesday for the following week and you'll have to pay the discounted rate for the following Friday/ Saturday

around 80 dollars a weekday, free on weekends.

just taking a stab at this with very rough math,

if you put in long days, every single day, during the month so your average is around 10 hours a day at 1-2 or 7-8 hours a day at 2-5 i think you could maybe do it for about 80 dollars a day during the week and free on weekends. this is assuming fall/winter months (lower prices, more lenient on comped weekends).

you should be able to get rooms for around 100 a weeknight with your discounted calendar. you should be able to get friday and saturday free. you'll make about 20 dollars in comps a day.

good luck.

I know people who actually do it. If it is 2 of you and you play 7-8 hours a day of 2 5+ each, you will get 3 days a week each (after talking to the poker host) and can split $79 or so for the remaining day.

The key is you will need to establish some playing history first before you get these generous offers.

So, the first time you come, split a $30 + taxes/resort fee room at Harrahs for 2-3 days and put in insane volume (like 10-12 hours a day). Then, talk to the host about your plan a few days later and come back for a month using the comped rooms approach outlined above. Another benefit for yourself is it will be easier to stay sane if you have a buddy with you.

Living there for a month would be expensive as others have said, unless you have some partners. If you really want to maximize your time there and pay as little as possible, but it's only you, consider this: I played 10-12 hours a day for 3 days in September (staying in a friend's room) and started getting comped rooms. This was the first time I played at the Borgata in years and the second time I've ever been. I only played 1/2, as well, but still started getting good offers. In October I was able to stay 12 nights and only pay for 2 of them (inexpensively as well). Set it up to use your two comp nights a week that they give you on Friday/Saturday nights, then pay for Sunday, and then get Monday/Tuesday also comped because it's a new week. So you can stay 5 nights and pay whatever Sunday's rate is (usually cheap). Then wait a week and a half and go back the next Friday/Saturday and leave Sunday. And then go back on Friday of the upcoming week and do the 5 day stay, paying for only Sunday again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Hey guys was wondering if anyone had any advice, a friend of mine was assaulted right at the poker table by dealer/floor at borg, was all caught on tape and police were called and charges were filed, I feel like the borgota should know what this employee is like and wondering which department should be contacted regarding an employees behavior at neighboring casino.
