I didn't realize what they were doing until after I left the table.

I asked the floor about this the next day and he said that it is collusion and that they would separate them next time.
I have also seen a young asian couple playing together at 1/2 playing as you have described. I would point this out to the floor as soon as you recognize this behavior.

is there any other good ways to use comps other than to pay for rooms and food? Went to their gift shop the other day and found out it was 2:1 using comps, which was pretty lame.

Not sure if they qualify as good, but also bars, spas and shows.

I was told by someone at the ticket counter that you could only use comps for the comedy shows, this was some time ago so might have changed,

That would make some sense. I've never tried, but the MBR FAQ just says comps are good for "entertainment."

Question for room/comp experts: I used to get 2 free night a week, but haven't been to Borgata in a while and obviously now the privilege is gone. My comp was for weekdays AND weekends, as I used to put in 12-16 hour sessions, playing 5/10 and 2/5, two or three times every month. Now that I have to earn it back, if I put in a few long sessions, will I get weekend comp rooms back?

Just guessing, but I wouldn't think it would take too long, maybe a few sessions within a month? One would get things rolling, but it probably wants to see more than one or two to be sure you're serious before it lets you have weekends. After a couple sessions you could probably try talking to the poker host in the back if the regular system hasn't opened up yet. Just keep in mind that daily average (6am–6am) over 15 comp dollars is the important thing, and any short days mixed in will mess it up.

Last year I got the 2 days/week, any day, after 4 session at 1/2 with an average over 10 hours per session.

Supposedly it's based on 15 comp dollars per day ("day" starts at 6am), so adjust based on the comps at your level.

Also supposedly based off of a 6 month rolling calendar.

I haven't played there in over 6 months but I should be going again early next year, so I'll keep track and post here again (search my posts ITT, you'll see I laid out what I did last time thoroughly)

I was able to get a comped room on a sunday at the water club but a traditional room would've cost like $200+. My understanding was that the water club was newer/nicer, so I was really surprised to see that it was comped for me while the traditional room wasn't. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, many times, sometimes can get a suite but not a regular room on a particular night. It really depends on the availability.

And was it the first day on the card? Or are there previous or subsequent shorter days that would mean a lower daily average? Do you go to the strategy forums and post "I have [cards]. What do I do?"

Offers update Tuesday afternoons. If the system thinks your play warrants a change, that's when you should see it.

If it was the first day on a new card (or an existing card that's been out of use for a long time), let us know how it goes. We don't really have a lot of reports about how quickly play turns into offers.

Keeps taking me to a blank page, is it really against him or the card company? From what I understand that is who they really wanted to go after.

Try this one? I could only get the first line with that link.

AP on Philly.com

Borgata won vs Ivey on violating gambling regulations, lost on fraud. No mention of results for Gemaco.

my previous session was 1/23/14 for 8 hour, 46 minutes at $1/$2. i was a black card member at the time. so i had not played there in over 1 year

i am now a red card member. i played this weekend
4/3/15 @ $1/$2 for 10 hours, 51 minutes
4/4/15 @ $1/$2 for 12 hours, 29 minutes

here is a screen shot of room availability for May, left side taken on Friday, April 3rd, and the right side take today, April 7th. i'm guessing 1 or 2 more sessions like that and i might get Saturdays too, idk, but i'll try to find out and report back.

(sorry about the format being different, left is iphone when i was at the table, right is computer)

There's a huge part of me that was rooting for Ivey, but I'm happy Borg isn't losing this large sum of money. At the end of the day, F Ivey. I want my free rooms.
