Is it currently shut down, or will they remain open through the investigation?

Additionally, I plan to play at the Bike on a Sunday in May. I have never been to LA before, but understand the traffic can be awful. Flight will be around 9pm on a Sunday evening to depart back to Scottsdale. About how long is it from The Bike to LAX on a Sunday evening?

Currently shut down, unclear when/if it will reopen. Should be 30-40 minutes to LAX on a Sunday evening.

Bummer, just after they opened the hotel too. Sounds like what happened to several bay area poker rooms a few years ago. They all reopened within a few weeks.

There's no brick and mortar forum anymore, so hopefully this can be discussed here...

So the Bike was raided:

La Times Article

It looks like a federal money laundering investigation, but interestingly, people in the article are complaining about the pai gow games there, saying they're fishy or rigged or something.

Has anyone else experienced any anomalies in the pai gow games at the bike specifically? If so, what do you expect is going on? I'm assuming they use some sort of 2 deck shuffler like is typically used in Vegas. Rigged somehow?

the raid had absolutely nothing to do with "rigged"paigow, despite what degen gamblers might think. the raid had to due with people allegedly using the casino to launder money

Traffic should be minimal.

Like most every non-Indian casino in California, the Corporation has an edge. Add to that the drop, and it is very hard to beat the Dark Side games.

There's a thread in NVG about this where people are updating information. Also there's another thread in there about the Limon situation for those that asked.

All,

I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping a regular can answer for me. They're simple questions, but I can't seem to find a straight answer on their website or in this thread...

1. I hear there are odd buy in amounts at the Bicycle. I'm trying to play the equivalent of a 1-2NL game, but it seems like this game might have capped buy ins at low amounts ($100?). If this is actually the case, do I need to move up stakes, say to a 2-5 game? If this is the case, and I need to play 2-5, what is the max buy in? My goal is to buy in around $300 and have an average sized stack. Sorry if this question isn't totally clear.

2. On the previous page, someone mentions that they were angled by a pair of regulars, that both said "Check" after he was reaching to cut some chips for a bet. If you're planning to bet in this room, do you need to verbalize "bet", and then reach for chips? I have never ran into an issue like this in any room ever.

I appreciate the help.

There is a 2/3 at the Bike where the buy in is $100-$300. Play that. The 1/2 is capped at $80 or $120 I believe something like that. Don't waste your time with that one.

Sounds like a one off situation. You don't have to verbalize at the bike. Just be careful with your hand actions if hit do a lot of chip shuffling and hand movements. If you think that might be an issue for toy then yeah, just verbalize your bet.

Have fun and good luck.

Have you guys ordered food while playing poker? If so, do you have any recommendations.

I've ordered a few items and they were awful so far.

$5 for 5 tacos is superb and would run you ~$13 on the street.

New York Steak, I get mashed potatoes and onion rings as sides with a spinach salad.

Chicken Caesar Salad hold the croutons.

Shrimp Fried Rice is ****ing bomb but unhealthy.

All there burgers are bomb.

There Pho sucks compared to what's available on the streets.

And there smoothies taste decent but are really healthy. There ice cream 1 scoop desserts are ****ing bomb too.

I'm coming for Legends. Looking to rent an Airbnb in a decent place that isn't too far from the casino. Any help on location?

"decent" is relative, as well as "isn't too far." I assume you'll have a car? If so, draw a big circle around the Bike (several miles in each direction) and don't pick anything inside that circle. Downey is probably the closest I would consider, but not all of it.

If you don't have a car you're going to have to suck it up and stay at the Bike (or the ****ty place across the street).

Well said. I actually laughed out loud. Would not recommend heading directly west of the bike either. Just get a place in Torrance, redondo, or Culver City (price wise) and distance.

Those 3 places would be a terrible commute to the Bicycle.

Do they have Airbnb in Alhambra? Boring neighborhood, but safe and a straight shot down the 710.

But a good commute to the Hustler if one were so inclined (especially from Torrance).

Hi I'm planning on coming out to LA to play at Bike and/or commerce in late November.

Anyone know if the bike is good with offering poker rates for their rooms? I'd like to stay for a week or two and will be playing higher stakes (mostly 10/20 and up) so I will accumulate comps while there but would like to try to get a good deal beforehand so I know where to stay.

Anyone know who I can reach out to?

Don't know about the poker rates, but I do know you won't be playing 10/20NL or higher at the Bike. That would be Commerce.
