I was there from 9/28 through 9/30. Did okay, up about $400 at the 2/5 tables. I have to say the competition has gotten quite a bit tougher since my first two visits. But overall, had a great time.

One funny hand, I have KK with a stack of about 900, up against a solid regular with about 700, I bet it all the way to the river, he calls every bet, but says before calling, "Do you have any idea what you're up against?" I put him all in after river, he calls with QQ and I drag a $1400 pot. Still not sure why he thought he was good!

They have at least one of these every time they have a series. The crowd loves it and nobody takes it seriously at all. It's like how the pros play rock paper scissors for a title.

I always use priceline Name your own price to bid on 3* in the Southport area, and have got courtyard Marriott and aloft tapestry, both $90-100 a night for about $50 incl tax.

Same here. I've stayed at the Courtyard about 1/2 mile from BestBet for $60 after tax.

Since Im a surfer/kiter/ poker guy too, I feel compelled to reply ! I stopped by Best Bet Jacksonville last Saturday on my way to Tampa. I loved the room, the only complaint I had was the 9 per table at the 2/2 games. Seemed like we were playing with 6 people all the time if there was an open seat or two, and someone was smoking or at the bathroom, and if there were a few short stackers ( which there were) I just asked for a table change and the floor took care of that quickly. I was able to sneak chips on to the table to cover all the stacks......
The dealer's and floor people where very good, the room was well lit with bright yellow table felt. Drinks were not free......
I slept in the van in the parking ...no problems.
Seems like a great place to surf and play poker !

For the posters asking about rates, always ask for the poker rate at Hampton Inn and Courtyard, it's $69/night year around.

Doesn't matter how good the staff are, if you want to get extra chips on the table it's going to happen.

How many are starting the day 1's (as in, total players per day)?

Just curious because I see 18 players survived day 1A...

My buddy played day 1 and survived, he said there were like 30 from 1 day and another 20 from another day, but I forgot in which order. Probably around 75 playing today.

I'm driving up to Jacksonville to play some cash games today and was wondering about the action at Best Bet. I see there is a Fall Series event. What are the 12 and 25 tables like? I usually play down south at Palm Beach and The Isle. I've heard great things about Best Bet and look forward to playing

Went to Best Bet this Sunday and had a blast playing 2/2 won 364 bucks. Games were great besides some short stacking. The regs also get called out a lot by the dealers which is a good thing to pick up on.

I think they do 1/2 PLO, and a lot of times the players agree to bump it to like a 2/5 or 5/5. Only going by what a friend told me on this. Usually no more than a table or two of Omaha running. During the fall series, which is going on now, there may be more.

I recommend repotting everytime. lol
