So much value in live cash and dailies here... Is there any safe way/system to find trustworthy horses?

How many people do the $40 tournaments usually get?

Other than having someone to monitor everyone's play I don't think so. Too much shady room for exploitation and shady characters thinking you owe them for giving them the opportunity of a stake.

Played in this back in early August, there were about 80ish people but 130 entries total since there was one rebuy allowed through the first four levels. Heard there were usually around 100ish per tourney.

I somehow managed to ship it, but it's such a donkament and it's only cause I ran ridiculously good. I definitely had a good time, but I equivilate this tournament to playing the lottery. Structure sucks and only $25 of the $40 goes in to the actual prize pool. The other $15 go to fees and ****. I won the damn thing, and it's just not quite worth it.

However, if it still entices you, the skill level is so horrendously bad in this tournament it's amazing. That alone makes it a little better, I guess. It's also something fun to do if you're looking for a good time.

Yeah the $40 gets 100+ the reenter is like every other entry in the tourney, so it's not that big of deal. It is an atrocious $25+15 so still not really worth even though a buddy of mine wanted me to play it a few months ago and I won it outright (no chop) so I don't play it anymore don't want to hurt my perfect 1-0 record, the $150s turbo and the regular are actually good tourneys for weekly/dailies though but I would stay away from the $40.

LOL, they are constantly calling the floor to come by with a ruler to try to smash in the drop box.

A player even commented on how often this happens now compared to just a short while ago, and with a straight face the dealer starts coming up with a story about how the dealers aren't dropping the chips in the correct way.

Lol, you and me both with that perfect 1-0 record. I'm sure it will remain that way, it's obvious I'm never playing that again. Same for you I'm guessing.

Was thinking about grinding 2/2 and 2/5 for about a couple months straight once I graduate from school in May, but with the increased changes to rake and promotions, is it even worth it at this point? Living expenses are super low thanks to an awesome hook up, and the level of play there has been incredibly horrendous every time I've been. But trying to decide if I should go elsewhere... Again, only living expenses would be food and gasoline. Will be with two other players to divide up those expenses.

Grinding there for a couple months sounds fine. Have an exit strategy though. Playing 2-2 nl and 2-5 nl everyday can get pretty taxing. I know it sounds like a dream while you're in school. Plan for the next move while you're grinding those couple months else what seemed like 'the life' can turn pretty quick.

I definitely am already planning an exit strategy. The only reason I've considered doing this at all is because I've played at my local casino for the last year as my sole source of income and have done fairly well, even though sample size is a little lol. Plus, because of those minor expenses, felt like it would be a decent idea to give it a try while I'm still young.

Definitely heeding your advice though. Aware that daily grind of 2/2 and 2/5 can be rather taxing and dull.

I usually play at Daytona Beach Kennel Club but I'm going to be in Jacksonville tomorrow so I'm definitely gonna play a few hours at least

Anyone played at both venues and can compare the strength/fishy-ness of the venues? Just curious

I ended up playing there for about 2 hours Saturday morning at 8am and then came back around 9pm for another 1.5 hours. Oddly enough, the action on my table was crazier at 8am than 9pm lol. $15-20 typical raise size at 2/2 and always a few callers

Really nice place. I like the rolling chairs. Chips and cards are a bit flimsy compared to DBKC but no big deal. I'll definitely be stopping back in there in the future if I ever find myself in Jax again

if AK could fade A10, I'd finally be above average stack after 6 hours of surviving 10bb or less with 7 left.
