Will be going to vegas beginning of May. I need to stay on or near Bellagio for conference. What is the poker room rate for Bellagio? It's been 2 years since I've been there, so I don't know if they still have my profile in the poker room to give me the preferred rate..

I can also stay at Aria or Vdara... I don't know which one will give me the best value...

Any help would be appreciate it.

Poker rate at Bellagio is $129 weekdays, $179 weekend, subject to change based on availability, special events etc. Plus $25 daily resort fee and taxes.

Staying at Vdara this trip. I think the rate I'm paying right now is unusually high because we had to get it last minute, march madness, etc ($2800 for two weeks). Aria poker rate is similar to Bellagio, iirc, maybe a little cheaper.

You should call the poker room and ask about the rates to a poker host. GL!

No poker rate at Vdara. A poker host said poker points don't transfer between MGM properties. Someone with a platinum Mlife card told me he was getting under $100 a night at Vdara. I just have gold

I like the Vdara the best in terms of your room over either Aria or Bellagio. It is a great hotel to stay at for poker players especially during the series in the summer.

I take it the 40-80 mix is going strong still?

Do the split pot Draw games have a qualifier on the Badugi half?

Three days in a row I've had to wait over 30 people to get on a table. Waited 2 hours at my room and then 2 more on the floor downstairs. . Why don't they have more tables during the series??

I played at Bellagio on Friday and was very disappointed. I went early so got in a game fairly quickly, but the place was super-packed, uncomfortably crowded, and the staff was overwhelmed when trying to start games or get players into open seats. Then most of the day I was at a table by the rail which made it a little less crowded, but I constantly was getting smoke wafting in from the sportsbook area.

Just got back form a Good Weekend Trip Bellagio.

Other games were included by a players request but not in all the time

a Few thoughts

1. On the 3 draw games (2-7 TD, Baducey, Badacey) Why do we need all three? Baducey has things in common with 2-7 and with Badacey, It would be better to drop Baducey and just play 2-7 TD and Badacey.

2. Super Razzducey- what is the need to play this 2-7? should just play A-5 and call Razzdugi, my least favorite game anyway.

3. Would be interesting to add a few big bet games ie PLO (5-10 blinds) or NL 2-7 SD (10-20 blinds + ante?)

would be a nice 4 game mix, get rid of some of the clutter, and possibly add PLO or NL2-7

Would love to see some of these mixes add PLO or plo8. Would be much more inclined to play them over straight PLO or LHE when at Bellagio or aria.

Why does Bellagio spread 1-3 NL games during the WSOP? They had 70+ people on the wait list for 5-10 NL today. (and similar numbers all the last week and throughout the WSOP I'm sure)

Years ago they didn't even offer a 1/3 game. (2-5 was the lowest)

Maybe they don't want completely alienate their regular customers who play 1-3?

It's pretty terrible when we are trying to get a higher LHE or mix game going and they either start another 1/3 or all the table are full because they already have a ton of them going.

It's all perspective! I remember when I was playing low stakes NL and the Bellagio used to treat those players like crap. It's gotten a lot better now.

The lower limit floors (when it was still $1/2nl) use to be rude and act all high and mighty because we were just simply $1/2nl folk and they were used to high stakes games and big name players. It was disrespectful and I played there less (they sucked in table changes and getting you into a game before Bravo) but now they smile, make small talk, and treat low limit players with respect. Kind of like Venetian always did.

I've barely played at all at Bellagio and Aria with the waiting lists being too long in the last month or two. And I'm a 1-3 player.

Lol, no chance they move that many names in under an hour. They are super slow with calling off names on the list. Seems they give every name 10-15 minutes before calling the next, even though most aren't there.

More hands are played per hour on lowstakes tables because pots are smaller hence more rake collection for casino.

Huh? How does smaller pots make for faster games? In my experience, the smallest NL games are the slowest games around.

You've obviously never played in games where people regularly run it twice, or where pots actually are big enough packed with lots of bills and chips for people to have to take a few minutes to think.

Nope, but I have played in lots of small NL games where people agonize and tank over $40 bets.

If the B wanted to maximize the rake paid by the tables, they should be encouraging more 10/20 limit holdem games - it goes quick and maxes out the rake quick. They're very slow to start those games though.

Max rake is $4/pot, time charge is $6 or $7 per down. If the 1/3 game sees ~25 flops with >10bb in the pot the revenue is almost equivalent to the time charge of higher stakes.

^ They definitely take in more money at the raked tables than at the time charge tables. That has nothing to do with what you quoted about size of the pots and speed of the games though.

At most times of the year that's true. If I call and they have around 4-7 names on the list, I will get in a game fairly quickly when I show up. But when they have 50 names on there and no more room to open up a new table, I would expect it to be a while. I once saw 99 names on the list at Aria.
