July 10 is the date. You need to return both keys to get your deposit refunded.

Thanks I've seen those. Curious if anyone who has been recently has heard talk from the dealers or floors on an expected open

This new casino is supposed to be open THIS July? They'd better get to work. Any idea if they'll have new chips? The yellow $5 chips are sticky as ****.

I believe the July 10th date mentioned above just relates to the closing of the security boxes, not when the move-over is planned.

No idea on the chips.

Anyone ever make it on Monday night or other weekday nights? Don't want to waste my time if its dead.

Weeknights are fine. There's a significant after-work crowd. Obviously, the closer to the weekend the better.

Weeknights are usually busier than weekend nights.

“Bay 101 will be ceasing our Food & Beverage and Food Service operations sometime between September 18, 2017 and September 29, 2017,” stated a July 5 notice sent from the casino’s human resources to the employees. “We will be laying off the employees of these two departments. The layoff is expected to be permanent.”

So, apparently the anticipated date for the move to the new site is Sept 14th.

That's too bad. I always liked Sutters. Even though I never ate at the table, a lot of players did. That area is not exactly packed with decent food places within walking distance. A lot of people will just go home when they get hungry.

They aren't going to stop having food/beverage service. They are just going to outsource it (like Garden City did when it was sold in '07).

It seems weird that the move-in date doesn't coincide with the outsourcing of food service. Do they really expect people to stick around, help set up a new kitchen, learn a new system, and then get let go?

Bay101 isn't exactly sure when they'll be able to move into the new building, hence the vague date on when the food staff would be let go. The Sept. 14th move in date is unlikely to be the actual date, from what I hear.

Wow this whole thing feels super disorganized and rushed.

Have they lost any dealers in the transition?

Bay 101 has replaced the 3-6 and 6-12 limit holdem with 4-8 limit holdem. They are now offering 4-8 and 8-16. The 8-16 is with a 1/2 kill. The 4-8 has a 6 dollar drop. The dealer claimed the 3-6 had a 5 dollar drop, but I haven't played 3-6 in a long time and didn't know that.

There were 5 4/8 tables and 6 8/16 tables running when I left just before 5 PM.

Well, I think they're trying to do an instantaneous cutover in one day, without a break in the card games and minimizing the overlap in rent for two buildings. I think they're literally going to decide like a few days in advance on the actual date, depending on when the new building is ready. That's basically how Garden City->M8trix did it.

Good to hear, 3/6 is horrible. It did have a $5 drop. But the jump from 4/8 to 8/16 with a half kill is pretty huge. They should probably just have 4/8, 8/16, and 12/24 (with the $3 teal chips they already have).

I'm going to be in Palo Alto for business next week. Is this the closest poker room? How far away is it?

Use Google Maps to not only find out what the distance is but thr expected travel time at different parts of the day.

Thanks, will check Maps at the time. Looks like San Jose casinos are closer than San Francisco generally.

Anyone have a view of Bay 101 v. Matrix? They seem very close to each other so travel won't matter. I'd be looking to play 2/5 NLHE or 1/2 or 2/5 PLO. I'm pretty used to deep stack games so would like games that play deep if available. Thanks!
