Why the hell would you live in Northern California if you were a "Pro"? The games are lolbad around here.

The most you can become is semi pro. You can't make a living at 2/5 and the random 5/10 going only on certain days.

Move to SoCal. Have a choice of 4 casinos playing multiple tables of 5/10 everyday along with PLO.

I would agree with this. Unless you are good at limit the Bay Area isn't the best choice

Untrue. 5/5/10 at Bay sometimes goes more than 1 day. M8trix 10/25 sometimes goes 2 or 3 days. Sometimes 2 tables. Lucky Chances also has a 5/10 variant I believe. Even if Bay 5/5/10 is not running, their deepstack 2/3/5 is just about always running, buyins 500-2000. Judging by money on the table it plays as big as a typical Vegas 5/10. M8trix has a similar game. If you want to play mid-high stakes in the SF Bay area, there's just about always a game somewhere. You just have to pick up a phone.

All of the words here are true.

SOMETIMES the 5/10 goes more than once a week at Bay. SOMETIMES there's more than one 10/25 table at M8trix. SOMETIMES Lucky Chances will have a game. There's almost always a game SOMEWHERE in the Bay Area. (Don't forget Graton!)

Now compare that with LA or Vegas or even MDL or Florida.

Or Google the distance from Bay 101 to Lucky Chances. (or Graton!)

Or better yet, compare it with LHE.

The 80 goes like clockwork on weekdays and usually runs 12+ hours. The 40 goes like clockwork and usually runs 12+ hours. 20 may run 24/7 and by noon there's usually a third game going.

You could probably put in 80 hours/week as a 40/80+ pro, maybe 120 hours/week as a 20/40+ pro, all under the same roof.

Why do you have to go to so many different rooms to play certain games? Why do you have to pick up the phone?

I've lived in both places... I lived in OC and pretty close to Hawaiian Gardens. I could go to HG and always be guaranteed there are (2) 5/10 500-1500 going, (1) 10/20 uncapped, (1) 5-5 PLO and (1) Big-O.

If I wanted to play limit then my choices were (2) 15-30, (2) 40-80 or (1) 100-200.

That's just at 1 casino, and a smaller one at that. Commerce has even more games. Table selection is very important nowadays. I can't table select between casinos and lol having to call to find a game.

Anyways, we can agree to disagree.

I would be surprised if either 40/80 or 100/200 ran at HG with any regularity.

Does anyone know much about current prop jobs at Bay 101? People are always wandering into our casino with random statements about how much they get paid there, and I never know how accurate their stories are.

Hi, does Bay have a standard rule for miss declaring a hand? I'm asking specifically about a habitual offender who does it to be cute and giddy, not as an angle.

Also, what is the must move policy? Can a player take a hand after being called for the next table? Is it absolute - immediate, or if deal is starting can you take the hand? What if you decline the next table, can you play additional hands, to your next blind, for example?

Thanks

You can't decline to move and all changes are immediate, with the exception that you can play your BTN if you get called while in the SB.

I don't know much about prop salaries at Bay and I don't know where you are, but I feel pretty confident answering that the stories are inaccurate.

Talking about salaries is pretty bad etiquette and maybe even terminatable so anyone who does it is probably an idiot.

Saw a sign on the vacant lot across the freeway, "Casino Bay 101 Summer 2017." Is this new information or am I just out of the loop?

No. By city ordinance they (and M8trix) are limited to 49 total (poker + California games) tables.

I thought moving to Milpitas would get around that? What happened to that?

When is the new bay 101 scheduled to open? Is the old one going to stay open too? Maybe they can make an underground tunnel between the two. I hate the wait times at bay so they need more tables.

1. Nov 2017
2. Bay101 owns the old building and it will be torn down. Bay101 does not own the land and owners have other plans for it.
3. LOL tunnel
4. They are stuck with the 49 tables limit for the foreseeable future.

I am going to write a letter to the city, so pathetic. Commerce has like 10073933 tables, there's no reason why we need to be victimized by management. There will BE ANARCHY!!

Blame the San Jose voters. Back in 2012 they voted down a ballot measure to increase the limit from 49 to 79 tables. (and any increase in number of tables has to be approved by the voters --- the city cannot do it on its own).

Or you can blame Milpitas, it's smaller. It seems dumb on their part - it would have been a big boost to their tax base basically for free.
