I think I make it 3500-4000 to go preflop rather than just flat calling. This gives you the initiative on a missed flop and likely clears out the flat caller.

As played, yes I like a C-R on the flop so long as you realise that this effectively commits you to the hand so you pretty much have to shove the turn. As you played the flop, I think I would check/call the turn. River is a fold unfortunately, I can't think of too much that you beat that would play like this.
