Play a single HUSNG for your roll?

The good thing is that you've recognised its an upswing. So you probably already realised that you should instead win at a consistent rate before considering a move up.

Or else just move up now and give your winnings back to the community.

It doesn't matter from where your BR came. It seems like this post is more of a brag than a question of how to manage a bankroll. There's already good information available on how to manage a bankroll (check the "welcome" sticky at the top of the forum, specifically the links on variance). If you want to move up and you feel good about the quality of your decisions, try it and move down if it doesn't go well. Without a good sample of games, nobody can tell you if you have the ability to move up. If you want to make sure you can beat the level where you are, keep playing there - it's your call. Congrats on your success, but this isn't the place for brags.

Check out the sections on variance in the "Welcome" sticky at the top of the forum. This graph tells us nothing about the quality of your in-game decisions.

Is anyone playing these tournies? What is a good ROI in these?

every time this question is asked, the answer remains the same

sharkscope the better players you see regularly in the games and between them they are probably at, or approaching, whatever the achievable ROI is

After a recent FT cash, my bankroll allows me to play $100+ MTTS
However, I don't have time during the week to play anything other than a quick 2hr SNG or maybe a turbo 180.
It seems most of these are only around the $11 entry fee.
Am I losing out on potential earnings by playing below my bankroll allowance?
I know it won't hurt of course...

Your question confuses me.

So you have the option of not playing at all or playing $11 sit and gos?

One has no earnings and the other has potential earnings.

I play the MTT at the weekend when I have time.
Just wondering why the SNGs have much lower buy ins than a few years ago.

The troll in me wants to say "I'm not sure why", but really if you don't know why buy ins have dropped, search "poker" and "black Friday".

Nobody can tell you what games to play. See what's running when you are able to play and make do. The high stakes MTT SNGs rarely run AFAIK. High stakes STTs run, but you will probably get stomped if you don't normally play STTs.

hello every1,

assuming we're playing rather optimally pre and postflop, means no big leaks postflop and optimal calling/shoving ranges, which ROI
can we expect in single table SNGs. specifically turbos and regular speed ranging from low to mid and high buy ins on common sites like pokerstars/fulltilt.

playing MTTs right now but im trying to get a picture for what is possible in SnGs.

thanks!

edit: i just checked stars to see whats offered. seems like theres zero traffic on the higher buy ins right now. are SnGs dead? lol

Hi guys, I would like to ask about 180s in general on stars and then 3R 180s especially, do you think there is still plenty of value? it seems like its pretty much full of regs so game has such a tiny edges in it.. which lowers ROI etc, its more swingy than before 1-3 years.. so I am wondering for how long time that still will be good to play..

Yes, there's value.
Yes, there are also regs.
And yes, games are getting harder.

How long they'll last is anybody's guess.

Hey guys,
Lately I've mainly been playing 2.50 180 man's, and I was wondering, what is a good Brm for 3r 180mans? I've played a few of them, and I understood they are the weakest form of 180 mans?
My br is currently at 1k, is that enough to play them without too big a risk of going broke?

I have a 70% ROI over 650 180 man games ( mixture of $2 and $8) but yet I have lost $666 and change from 89 $3.50r!

1K is extremely small bankroll for 3r. You can easily lose them very fast.
3k is reasonable.
You should keep playing the 2.5$, get used to the variance.

My thinking is 4 Buy-ins as averrage so 1400 $ fro 100 Buy-In BRM. But u may need more because its a turbo.

This is pretty good, IMO. FWIW, I play $2/3.50 and $8 just loading whatever is filling until I have 15 tables. Usually end up with 9-10 $2.50, 3 x $8 and a couple of $3.50r. Average BI ends up being about $5.

Swings are def. smaller at 3rs but i wouldnt play them 'fulltime' before i reached ~3,5k U can add some 3r or 8 now and them during your manual 2/180 grind.

from my experience i would feel comfortable playing the 3r's at 2k... but as a newer player i would suggest possibly a little more depends on how you would feel if you lost 1k... especially when your just moving up to a new stake try and roll yourself a little more because you may not have the confidence to go through a big downswing and that will just suck.

On another note tho, since you have 1k you could possibly incorporate a few 3rs into your schedule say like 8 2.5's and 2 3.5's if you 10 table, that would get you comfortable with them.

just my thoughts!

I think around $3k is ok but to be comfortable you are probably better nearer the $5k mark. This way you can have a $2k+ downswing and not have any worries. Also, depends how much you grind. If you grind 18+ tables for 5+ hour sessions then you really want to have a bigger roll than if you were say 6 tabling for a couple hours a day.

$3rs are the softest. Some people claim there is no value in them anymore due to the amount of regs, which is bs. For every 1 reg there is, there are 20 fish.

GL and see you at the tables!
