Push/fold range contracting Push/fold range contracting

I know this is not a usual problem spot but I have a question about heros ranges with different stack sizes. With a given stack size ICMizer is suggesting a 14% shove range but the range contracts when I increase or decrease the stack size, I hope someone could explain why this is happening.

the shorter the effective stack is the more loose the shoving ranges are, unfortunatelly I cant move on to further explanation on this right now but the simplest example will give you the general idea, so think of what you 'd shove (when everyone folds to you) from the SB when you have 1 big blind and reconsider the same situation with you having lets say 20 BB's instead of 1

But that does not explain why 20BB and 5BB stack ranges seem to be tighter than a 12BB one.

You have a perfect stack size to 7x it all-in.

If you were shorter you wouldn't have fold equity; if you were deeper you would be risking a lot to win little.

This is why I tell people to avoid raising to more than 10% of the effective stacks if they can just min-raise smaller.

Sorry, just seen that you aren't BB.

Do you mean your own range to open-shove all in? What payouts did you use? What stage in the tournament is this?
